There are many ways to determine what hair color best matches your skin tone.
Here is a guide on how to achieve that.
Many people confuse your skin complexion with your skin undertone, but they are entirely different things.
Your skin's surface tone is the color that you can see on the surface of your skin, often described as light, medium, tan, deep, and so on. Your skin undertone is the color underneath the surface of your skin.
You may have the same complexion as someone, but that does not necessarily mean you have the same undertone. Your skin's surface color can change, due to factors like sun exposure, which is why some of us are lighter during the fall and winter months and get darker during spring and summer.
Your skin's undertone remains the same, although it can look like it has changed.
Here are three types of skin undertones you can have:
People with cool undertones tend to have lighter skin.
However, darker-skinned women can have cool undertones as well. If you have cool-toned skin, you have pink, red, or bluish undertones.
People with neutral undertones can rock looks from both the cool and warm tone groups.
If you are neutral, you have a mix of both warm and cool undertones. Your skin radiates pink and yellow hues.
If you have warmer toned skin, then you have peach, yellow, or golden undertones.
Your face has a natural slight yellow or bronze glow.
The first step to lead you in the right direction is to learn whether or not your hair works well with cool tones or warm tones.
If you are neutral, your skin works well with both!
Cool, warm and neutral tones are remarkable because just a little change can alter your look completely. Naturally, warm skin tones look best with warm hair, and cool skin tones look best with cool hair whereas neutral can rock either.
The key is for you to pick the color that best accentuates your natural features. How do you figure out if you have warm or cool skin? Here are some quick tests you can do to help you determine that!
You can probably already tell what category you fall under but here are a few tests to help you be sure of your undertones!
For this test what you want to do is stand in a place with natural light, preferably a window when it is sunny out, and use a mirror to look at your under eyes.
If the skin under your eyes a bit purple or blue you are a cool tone. However, if the skin under your eyes appears to be more of a yellowish color you are a warm tone. Not everyone has these colors underneath their eyes to help determine their skin tone but do not worry there are several more tests!
Hold a white piece of paper up to your face. Looking in a mirror, try to see how your skin looks in contrast to the white paper. Your skin tone is warm if your skin appears yellowish or sallow beside the white paper. If your skin seems pink, rosy, or blueish-red, then you have a cool skin tone.
When having a neutral skin tone, you can't determine any cast of yellow, olive, or pink.
If your skin burns quickly in the sun, you are most likely a cool tone. And if your skin tans easily you are a warm tone.
If you have spent more than an hour in the sun you probably already know this answer, and it is not necessary to go out and complete this test! This test is not easy to determine if you are neutral as your skin can react either way.
You want to flip your wrist and look at your veins for this analysis.
You are a cool tone if your veins appear bluish or purplish. If your veins appear green, you are a warm tone.
You're most likely neutral if you have both!
Your natural eye and hair color can help you determine your skin tone.
Usually, people with cool tones have eyes that are blue, grey, or green and have blonde, brown or black hair. Their hair typically has undertones of blue, silver, violet, or ash. Warm-toned women usually have brown, amber, or hazel eyes with blonde, red, brown, or black hair.
The undertones in their hair are most likely gold, red, orange, or yellow. Neutral skin tones mainly have hair and eye colors that have a mix of warm and cool tones. Those with neutrally toned skins have eye colors that typically are a combination of some sort, such as blue-green eyes with hints of copper, or eyes that can go from a warm-green to a cool blue.
This can also depend on what clothing or hair color they have.
Think about whether you look better in silver or gold jewelry.
It should not be which you like more, but which type of jewelry makes you look more radiant, glowing, and awake. If you look better in silver jewelry, then you most likely have a cool undertone. If you look better in gold jewelry, then you most likely have a warm undertone. For those that look great in both, your undertone is most likely neutral.
Which color looks best on you?
Warm-toned women, the colors that fit them best are yellows, oranges, browns, yellow-greens, ivory, and warm reds. Cool-toned women's best colors are blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and real "blue-based" reds.
For neutral undertones colors that fall in the middle of the spectrum work best. Some examples are light peach, dusty pinks, soft rose, peony pink, placid blue, jade green, cameo green.
If you are still confused about whether you are a warm or cool skin tone, a great way to determine this would be matching your skin color to other celebrities.
Not only will this help you figure out if you are warm or cool, looking at the colors that the star with your matching skin tone wears can also give you an idea of what colors look great on you too because we all know these celebrity women are always looking great.
Here are a few skin tone examples and celebrities that fit into the category.
If you are of a pale complexion, then your skin tones fall near porcelain! This color is an apparent cool skin tone. Celebrities that have this skin tone include Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Amanda Seyfried, and Adele.
People with porcelain skin mainly have blue undertones.
If you are still of a lighter complexion, but your skin can tan and become a bit golden, then you have fair skin. People with fair skin tend to have a neutral undertone.
A few celebrities with fair skin are Rita Ora, Blake Lively, and Ashley Benson.
People with olive skin have a light but warm complexion with some yellow undertone. Some people with olive skin may have a warm or cool undertone.
Celebrities with an olive skin tone include Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, and Mila Kunis.
A medium skin complexion classifies lighter-skinned black women. They have a warm undertone with colors ranging from yellow, gold, and brown.
Celebrities with this medium skin tone are Beyonce, Rihanna, Kerry Washington, and Ciara.
Darker skin complexions classify brown and darker-skinned black women. They also have a warm undertone with the same colors ranging from a hint of yellow, gold, and brown.
Celebrities with this complexion include Lupita Nyongo, Viola Davis, Naomi Campbell, and Jennifer Hudson.
It is essential to keep in mind that people of darker shades can have a neutral or cool undertone and people of lighter tones can have a warm undertone.
That is why it is crucial to not only go off of your skin color but also complete the undertone tests to find out your right match.
Now that you know your skin category and have figured out your undertones, it is time to decide what colors work the best for you.
Getting professional help is usually the best idea if you are coloring for the first time or are trying a unique color (oranges, purples, pinks).
Whether you want to seek professional help or do it at home is your choice, but it is essential to know some tips to help you on your journey. Here are a few tips to help your hair and guide you to the color that you so desire.
If you have never dyed your hair before, it is essential to know that the color that shows up on the box is what will reflect on your hair.
Use a sulfate-free shampoo. This step is crucial as it will lengthen the life of your permanent hair dye and will not strip the color out like other shampoos.
Do not use heat styling tools often. Not using too much heat helps to control and prevent further damage.
Use a heat protectant. If you can't help but use heat often or use heat at all, putting a heat protectant on before styling your hair will also help prevent damage.
Invest in a shower filter. A shower filter will prevent fading and discoloration from the buildup of minerals and chlorine that are present in city water.
If your hair color does not look right, do not dye on top of it. Doing this will not get you the color on the box but a mix of the two colors. Save yourself the time and damage and invest in a product that will remove the color or seek professional advice.
Deep condition often. A deep conditioner will help to repair any damage that has been done to your hair and keep it moisturized. Remember, sulfate-free!
Before swimming, rub coconut oil through your hair. It creates a barrier between your hair and the salt and chlorine which helps to prevent damage and color loss.
Use a shampoo and conditioner specifically made for color-treated hair. Using specific hair products will help preserve freshness and manage your hair the right way.
Your hair health effects the color outcome. It is not a good idea to dye damaged hair. To get the best outcome, dye your hair when it is healthy.
Now here is the fun part!
Figuring out what colors look best on you so that you can add a little pop to your current style.
It is also important to know that if you want to dye your hair a shade that is not in your category you should go for it. As long as you are confident and feel great in the look then why not experiment?
Also, it is not about the color; it is about the specific shade. Blonde hair can look great on anyone; you just have to find out what exact shade of blonde works for you.
With that in mind, here are the colors that work best for your skin tone.
The benefit of having a neutral skin tone is that there is a range of colors that work for you.
Neutral skin tones can pull off virtually every hairstyle.
So instead of talking about shades that look good on neutral tones, I'm going to state a few techniques that bring out the best in this complexion.
Some hair dyeing techniques that seem great in a neutral undertone are ombre, highlights, balayage, lowlights, splashlights, and many more techniques that look great with neutral undertones.
These styles help bring out the cool and warm undertones that a neutral tone has.
Women with peach, yellow, or golden undertones have many great colors they can rock as well.
Most women with warmer skin tones have naturally darker hair usually being brown or black. That doesn't mean you can't try a bold color! Vibrant colors look great on the warm-toned skin as well.
The key is to choose a color that will not only compliment your skin but your eyes as well. You want to avoid colors with a harsh contrast to your skin. Some of those include jet black, white, blue, or violet.
Here are a few different shades you can rock:
For my ladies with a pink, reddish or blue undertone, this is for you! Cool skin tones look best with cool hair colors!
Some keywords to help you find a shade of color that is cool and will work with your skin tone are "ash," "platinum" and "champagne." A plus to having cool-toned hair is the tone of that cool color helps reduce brassiness!
You want to avoid are yellow tones in hair, bronze undertones, and gold tones.
Here are some shades that work well with cool undertones:
Note: All black hair colorwork with cool-toned skin.
It is important to remember that choosing the right shade for you should not be based on your skin complexion but rather on the undertones of your skin.
There are a variety of colors out there that compliment your skin. As I have said before you should remember that you can always try a color that does not fall in line with your undertones if you think it will look great on you.
There is nothing wrong with trial and error.
Many hair colors that you would never imagine could work with a skin tone have been pulled off successfully. You should feel confident to switch up your hair color too. Any can work for you it is all about finding the right shade!
Answer: To find the hair color that best matches your skin tone, first determine whether your skin has warm, cool, or neutral undertones.
If your veins appear blue or purple, you likely have cool undertones; if they look green, you have warm undertones. For neutral undertones, your veins might appear colorless or match the skin.
Answer: Absolutely. Choosing a hair color that complements your skin tone can enhance your overall appearance, making your skin look more vibrant, and even highlight your facial features.
For instance, the right hair color can make your eyes appear brighter and can add to the warmth or coolness of your complexion.
It’s about creating harmony and balance; the right color can lift your look, while the wrong choice might make your skin appear dull or washed out.
Answer: Personal style and preference are also crucial when choosing your hair color.
If you’re drawn to a color outside traditional recommendations for your skin tone, consider using it as highlights or an ombre to blend with a base color that complements your skin. This way, you can enjoy the best of both worlds—the excitement of the color you love and a flattering base that enhances your natural tones.
Additionally, experimenting with different shades can be fun, and there are no absolute rules in fashion and beauty.
What's most important is that you feel confident and happy with your look.
So what's the verdict? Are you brave enough to sport a new look?

1. You must think about having a partner to help you with your hair business. An equal partner, naturally, shall demand higher power and control. Venture capitalists often require management decisions, just like having their say in your important decisions.
For most hair companies that are just starting out, you will not need to go the Venture Capital route unless you have a massive plan.
You don’t want any of these to happen. So the best partner for you is a bank. Banks will not bother you much until you make payments of principal and interest on time.
2. You should keep account of the money you wish to spend on your venture.
3. Anticipating the size of your needs, your spending, and financing, you should consider the running cost as well. If you are going to keep a lot of bundles in stock then what will be your holding inventory cost? These are things that are important to plan.
It might sound a bit ambiguous to you, but a part of planning your business plan is to determine what you would do with it. Your plan of activities can reference to in many ways.

Answer: Your business plan should include detailed financial projections for at least the first three to five years.
This includes sales forecasts, profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and a break-even analysis. Consider the initial setup costs, ongoing operational expenses, marketing and sales costs, and any other expenses related to running your business.
Financial projections should be realistic, based on thorough market research and clear assumptions, and they should also include best-case and worst-case scenarios to prepare for various market conditions.
]]>It’s 2024, and growing edges back is still a thing.
Many people can control it but do nothing about it, and there’s some who have a harder time with it but have no direction.
Edges are the first thing people see when they are looking at your hair. Some people feel as if having no edges can make or break a hairstyle too.
Whether you have thin edges or if all of your edges are gone, it can be tough depending on how you handle your situation. But always remember, no matter how bad they might look, you’re still beautiful.
A lot of our Private Label clients have moved away from lace front wigs and are now wearing glueless wigs to help protect their edges. Using adhesives like lace glue can be tough on those edges!
When it comes to growing out your edges, there are several different things you can do. But the common denominator for all of them is going to be consistency. Consistency is key in making sure you see results, regardless of what you’re doing. because what’s on the inside counts.
Quick Tip: Try out Private Label's best selling Edge Control for the next level of protection for your edges.
If you try a new remedy for a week or so and give up because you didn’t see any results, then that’s your fault. Of course, you wouldn’t see the results, because you gave up too soon. If you follow through with something for at least 30 days, you’re more likely to see improvement.
Continue reading as I go through some tips and tricks for growing your edges back!
If you want to grow your edges back, you must allow your scalp to breathe.
No, I don’t mean rock your favorite braids all summer either. I mean you have to leave your natural hair alone so it can conform to its natural state again so it can perform properly. Too many of us think we’re going to grow our edges back out while still abiding by old hair routines.
If you want to achieve something you never had, you must do something you have never done before.
If you always wear hair extensions, apply glue to your edges, and wear braids, you’re constantly weighing your hair and edges down. You have to let your hair out and retrain it, essentially. Once your hair is out, begin to create a hair regimen.
Your regimen should consist of a shampoo and conditioner routine that will occur on a certain day of the week. You should perform a good deep conditioner to your hair weekly as well along with purchasing natural oils. It’s going to be important that you begin to nurture your hair all over again.
Creating a regimen such as the one I mentioned is going to help your edges as well. If one part of your hair is messed up, the whole thing is too, for the most part.
If you need to repair your edges, you must also repair all of your hair so everything can be in one accord.
The reason you’re growing your edges out is that they have broken off, which also means during that process, it was also dry.
Moisturizing your edges has the same effect as watering a dry plant. If you do nothing to it, it won’t grow and flourish. You want your edges to flourish the best they can.
Below I’ll go through a few tips on how to keep your edges moisturized.
When it comes to repairing, you want to make sure you’re using the best products.
You wouldn’t want to apply creams or grease because those are a top base type of hair products. You will need a product that is going to penetrate the scalp that adds great benefits, like natural oils.
The best oil to use is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. This oil is super thick, powerful and will do amazing things to your edges. Because it’s high in vitamin E and has Omega 6 fatty acids, it’s the best hair treatment on the market.
Vitamin E is a thickening agent and helps promote hair growth by repairing hair follicles. So even if you have edges, but they’re thin, this product would still be great. The omega-six fatty acids also support hair growth and is an anti-inflammatory.
Therefore if your edges are used to tension, then you’re going to want a product that will help in soothing it.
Once you get yourself a bottle of Jamaican black castor oil, three times a week, massage your edges for about 15 minutes.
Incorporating massaging techniques to your regimen will stimulate your hair follicles. When you begin to jump-start the blood flow in your hairline, if done consistently, you will start to see an improvement. Another great oil to use while your massaging your edges is peppermint oil and cinnamon oil.
Both of those ingredients provide a cooling sensation, also known as “tingling” that jump-starts the blood flow to the hair follicles.
There’s no way you can be on the road to recovery, only during the daytime! Protecting your edges at night is crucial.
Many of us aren’t aware, but sleeping on a cotton pillowcase can break our edges, and dry them out, along with our hair. The cotton material acts like a sponge and will soak all the moisture out from your hair. So you have two options; purchase a silk hair scarf (or bonnet) or purchase a silk pillowcase. Whichever option you decide on, just make sure it’s a silk decision!
When you’re wearing a scarf or bonnet, you also want to make sure it’s secured. I know some people, including myself, are wild sleepers and scarfs fall off.
But that’s something that we can control, so it’s important to purchase a good scarf that will ensure it won’t fall off at night.
Another way to grow your edges is by using repairing products. Using strengthening and protein products, specifically deep conditioners, is going to be your gateway to beautiful edges.
Below will be a list of the best products to use:
The above products that are listed are going to help strengthen your hair as it grows in. All of these products are deep conditioners except the Eden and The Mane Choice products.
Those two products will still strengthen and protect your hair but as a top coat barrier.
When using the deep conditioners, be sure to apply the product after you wash your wash. Use a generous amount, especially on your edges and cover your hair with a plastic cap and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
This conditioning step will ensure your edges and hair gets the proper nutrients and make sure that your hair gets penetrated.
There are times when people try everything they can think of to grow their edges back, and they still see no results.
The reason for that is because there’s a deeper issue at hand. Most times if you don't see any improvements, that’s because the hair follicle bulb might be gone. The bulb is a section that’s connected to the follicle, and if it’s broken, then you could stop your hair growth. A clear sign this has happened to you is if your edge area is completely smooth with no hair stubble.
The best thing for someone to do in this situation would be to visit their primary doctor to go over further details and treatments. You always want to act fast if you’re going through this issue because you don’t want to prolong the process and mess your edges up to more.
Once you have done all that you could to help begin the journey in having healthy edges, there’s one last step you must follow.
While you’re growing back your edges, stay far away from any styles that cause tension. No extensions, no braids, no tight ponytails, etc. You don’t want to offset all the good you’ve done. You will need to research hairstyles that will still look nice, without pulling on your edges.
Try wearing your hair down loose, wear low ponytails, and use soft rollers if you want curls. Your styles don’t have to be boring just because it's not tight!
Answer: To lay your edges safely, use a soft-bristled edge brush or a toothbrush dedicated for hair.
Opt for edge control products that are free from harsh sulfates and alcohol, as these ingredients can dry out and weaken the hair.
Apply the product sparingly to avoid buildup and gently brush the edges in the direction you want them to lay. Avoid pulling too tightly to prevent tension and potential breakage.
Answer: Look for products that contain natural oils and butters, such as castor oil, shea butter, and jojoba oil, which can help to nourish and strengthen the hair.
Avoid heavy waxes or gels that can cause buildup and opt for lightweight or water-based products instead. A light application of a growth-stimulating oil at night can also help to keep your edges healthy.
Answer: It's best to give your edges a break from daily styling to prevent stress and potential damage.
When you do style them, be gentle and try not to pull too tightly. Consider embracing your natural edges on days when you don’t need a sleek look to reduce the amount of manipulation and give your hairline a rest.
Answer: Protective styles can indeed harm your edges if they're too tight or left in for too long.
When getting braids, hair weaves, or other protective styles, ensure that they're installed loosely around your hairline to avoid tension. Also, take breaks between styles to let your edges recover. If you notice any thinning or discomfort, it’s important to remove the style immediately and give your edges time to heal.
Answer: Start by reducing tension on your hairline through gentler styling practices. Incorporate scalp massages with essential oils like peppermint or lavender diluted in a carrier oil to stimulate blood flow.
Also, consider using treatments specifically designed to encourage hair growth. Be patient, as the regrowth process can take time, and avoid any styles or practices that could cause further stress to your edges in the meantime.
As I mentioned earlier, to see great improvements, you must stay consistent.
Remember to create your regimen and keep it on a weekly basis. Make sure you massage your edges and scalp several times a week too. Don’t ever let someone tell you that it's impossible to grow your edges back out. It’s possible if you continue doing what you need to do to see results.
Are you someone whose edges have broken off but they are now repaired? If so, let me know in the comment section what steps you took to repair them!
]]>I have always had thin and breakage-prone hair.
I do not suffer from hereditary Alopecia, but I have experienced times of intense hair loss, and some in my family suffer from Traction Alopecia.
I've got through my times of hair loss and thinning by manipulating my hair-less and wearing wigs.
Now, I can wear my hair in a wrap!
Alopecia affects many people across a variety of demographics.
It is a hair disease that can be received through genetics or induced through hair practices. Alopecia is the partial or complete absence of hair from areas of the body where it usually grows.
Alopecia does not just affect one's hairstyles and preferences, the sudden and often permanent loss of hair can cause severe body image issues, depression, and lack of confidence.
Alopecia can result in partial or complete baldness, and happen at a sudden rapid rate.
Different types of alopecia labeled in categories based on how it is acquired, where and how the hair falls out, and the severity of the condition.
Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune disease.
It is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins. This form of Alopecia affects both women and men. Alopecia Areata is an alopecia type that can happen over time with gradual thinning of hair or fall out quickly in large clumps.
Alopecia Areata is incurable but treatable. Most people grow their hair back although some people experience hair loss in other areas of their heads later on. Alopecia Totalis is an alopecia type that spreads across the entire scalp. Heredity causes Androgenetic Alopecia.
Alopecia Universalis occurs over the whole body taking out one's eyelashes, eyebrows, and any natural hair.
Traction is a form of alopecia, or hair loss, caused mainly by pulling force applied to the hair.
It is usually created as a result of the sufferer frequently wearing their hair in a particularly tight ponytail, pigtails, or braids. Traction Alopecia is the only form of Alopecia that is not genetic and happens due to outside factors.
Signs of traction alopecia include bumpy rashes, scalp redness, itching, and scaling. There are early signs of traction alopecia occurring due to irritation of the scalp and damaged or broken hair follicles. In more extreme cases one might have pus-filled blisters on the scalp and inflammation of the scalp.
All forms of Alopecia can cause permanent hair loss. Alopecia, hair breakage, and follicle damage are reasons why Private Label stress the importance of hair health and good weaving practices on the blog.
Tight weaves or improper installations can cause a broader issue that is harder to reverse like Traction Alopecia.
Often those with Alopecia wear weaves or wigs to cover balding, thinning, or areas of total hair loss. There are so many options for extensions it may be hard to decide where to start!
Virgin Hair Extensions is chemically unprocessed human hair, collected from a single donor.
Raw hair extensions has not been altered by dyes, perms, bleaches or harsh washes. Virgin Hair can last years and is reusable because it is human hair and is uncontaminated. This type of hair can be straightened, curled, and bleached or dyed to your liking and will retain its softness. Virgin extensions shed a little like natural hair.
However, they have different properties that entice people to purchase them.
Brazillian hair is the most common and the most like natural hair. Malaysian hair is a coarser thicker kind of extension and usually comes in a dark natural brown. Russian and Vietnamese hair is thinner and blends better with silky hair types.
Synthetic wigs are cheaper and found in local beauty stores. While these wigs made of a mix of synthetic fibers and processed hair, it is still a good option for extensions. Synthetic wigs can be lightly styled and interchangeable.
With both wig styles, it is essential to wear a protective cap underneath that can be purchased at the local beauty store. It is a breathable flesh-colored cap that will act as a barrier between your hair or scalp and the wig.
Over the past few years Human Hair Glueless Wigs have become very popular.
These types of wigs are easy for everyone to pop on and take off at night without the need of an adhesive. Private Label has been working on perfecting glueless wigs to make them ultra realistic with professional color and HD lace.
Glueless wigs are a fantastic option for those suffering from Alopecia.
Full lace wigs are made of complete lace and are attached to the head using a band, wig tape, or glue adhesive.
These wigs allow the wearer to have the versatility and a natural-looking nape and edges. Lace wigs are a good style and have a breathable cap to reach the scalp. Frontals and closures can be attached to wigs made with three to four bundles.
Bundles are a cheaper alternative to buying a full lace wig. For instance, if you are commissioning someone to make a unit, three bundles of 14 inches Brazillian Body Wave Hair with a 12 in. matching closure is $167. The same 14 inches Brazillian Body Wave Body Bundles with a Brazillian Frontal is $219; this allows the wig to be deconstructed and made into another wig or used later.
Constructing a unit is more cost-efficient compared to purchasing a full lace wig from the Private Label Extensions website for $150 or higher. However, both options have their benefits and are still of incredible quality.
One should also check out the bundle deals on the site that offer three bundles for a package deal.
Quality human hair or virgin wigs can be costly.
But don't worry! Private Label Extensions has full lace wigs available for and bundle deals for bundles made into wigs. Synthetic wigs are also a good alternative if you are unable to purchase virgin extensions. However, you should invest in the best extensions as it will last for years on end with correct care and be less expensive in the long run.
Look for sales or deals to get the bundles or wig you desire. Private Label Extensions has a calendar of all the potential holidays and sales that their hair company may be having.
Additionally, your insurance may cover your wig expenses. While they may not outright have a section labeled "Hair Coverage or Replacement Hair" it is likely that this option is a prosthetic if your hair loss is for genetic reasons. Insurance may not cover the entire cost.
However, you may have to pay the remaining balance.
If your hair has thinned or balded o the edges, there is still hope for your hair!
Opt for styles that do not pull on your hair; this will cause more damage to the hair follicles that may still be viable and irritate the surrounding scalp. If you're suffering from Alopecia that has resulted in some bald spots, you may not want to buy or construct a full wig.
Clip-in or tape in extensions is an excellent alternative to braiding and sewing in wefts or bonding extensions. Clip-in hair extensions and tape in Extensions placed virtually no stress on the hair and removed for breaks. Clip-In Extensions are tracks that have small clips attached to the wefts; these can be placed throughout the hair near balding spots to mask the affected area.
Tape-in extensions can be done the same way, and allow your hair to have a little extra fullness and shielded from view.
While Alopecia does affect the hair and scalp by making it itchy, bumpy or causing hair loss, it is still important to practice healthy hair care. Do not give up on your skin and hair because of your condition.
Here are the things to avoid to keep your hair and scalp healthy.
Although your hair may be falling out, it is imperative to take care of the hair that is left to reduce the amount of hair that can potentially be affected by the loss.
Additionally, taking care of your scalp can stop additional breakage and keep the hair follicles healthy enough to sustain hair growth later on. Some doctors will prescribe a shampoo or conditioner as well as grease for your hair depending on the condition of your scalp and the needs of your hair.
Essential oils like peppermint, castor, and jojoba oil have been proven to help hair growth by stimulating the scalp. Wild Growth Oil is another good oil that restores edges and thickens hair. Be careful to use these oils in moderation and rub into the scalp as directed.
During this critical time avoid styles like braids, buns, ponytails, and weaves. All of these styles put added stress on the hair and pull the skin and follicles too tight. Tight techniques and pulling can cause Traction Alopecia or worsen hair conditions.
Be kind to your hair; even if right now it feels like your hair isn't being helpful to you.
Do not overdo it when it comes to trying to"fix or force" your hair to return to the way it was. Follow a good hair care regimen, and wear wigs or your natural hair to lessen the stress on your follicles. Try not to perm or bleach hair during this time. It is time to treat and nurture hair.
Avoiding harsh chemicals is a must!
Hair growth supplements or general vitamins can provide your body with the vitamins and minerals it needs to produce healthy hair, that you might otherwise be missing out on based on your diet.
Water is the root of all things beautiful! The saying "water does a body good" is correct. Water has a cleansing effect on your entire body and helps the blood move more freely to the scalp as well. Good circulation is good for hair growth. Dehydration can contribute to thinning and dry and brittle hair.
Foods that are high in protein, Vitamin C along with Vitamin E help create stronger fuller hair.
Foods such as eggs, nuts, greens, and citric fruits are good for the hair. So are chicken and fish! While eating healthier isn't a promise for Rapunzel hair it will reinforce minerals in the hair shaft and create a better scalp for hair growth.
It is also useful for your skin, nails, and overall health.
Attempt to stay calm! Added stress can cause your hair to fall out even more. The pressure is terrible for your health, your hair, and your sanity!
I know that when your gorgeous locks are falling out in clumps, or you feel embarrassed about your edges it may be hard to stay positive.
However, I am speaking from experience. My mother suffers from Alopecia, and I have thin hair texture and light strands. About four months ago, all the hair along the perimeter of my hairline fell out. My edges snatched out of my scalp.
I didn't have any tenderness or bumping that signaled to the hair loss, one day I took down my braids, and my hair came out with it.
Exercising is a stress reliever and brings extra blood and oxygen to the hair, which can stimulate hair growth. You don't have to be the next Julian Michaels, but try going with your girls to Zumba maybe once a week. Or turn on your favorite song and get it in at home.
The tips above were used to regrow my hair.
I stopped getting braids, sew-ins, and ponytails, anything that could potentially strain and damage my hair and resorted to wearing wigs with a thin mesh cap underneath.
At night, I began to remove my wigs and massaged Wild Growth Oil into my scalp. Every two weeks, I started deep conditioning my hair, stopped slathering on edge control, and braided my hair for the foundation of my wig.
I also ate foods high in protein and massaged my scalp to stimulate blood flow.
Throughout my experience, I remained positive by allowing my hair time and care to grow back. I focused on all the new styles I could try out and becoming a self-proclaimed hair guru at that time, instead of wallowing over the hair loss. It was indeed a humbling and life-changing experience.
Overall, human hair wigs are a good option for styling when dealing with Alopecia. Any texture, type, or length of extensions is excellent to use for your hair.
Though it is better to choose Virgin has extensions because of the longevity and versatility it provides.
Answer: For those with alopecia, the safest extensions are those that apply minimal to no tension on the scalp and hair follicles.
Clip-in extensions are highly recommended because they can be applied with minimal tension and removed daily to reduce strain on the scalp. Another gentle option is halo extensions, which rest on the head with a hidden wire and do not pull on the hair.
It’s crucial to select lightweight extensions to prevent additional stress on the hair.
Answer: Hair extensions, if not selected or applied correctly, can potentially worsen alopecia, particularly if they pull on the scalp or are too heavy.
This is known as traction alopecia. To minimize risk, opt for extensions that distribute weight evenly and apply minimal tension.
Always have them applied by a professional who understands your condition, and communicate any discomfort immediately.
Answer: For a natural look, consider custom-fitted wigs or a consultation with a cranial prosthesis specialist who specializes in hair loss to match the texture and color of your natural hair as closely as possible.
Techniques such as blending shorter pieces with longer extensions can create a more seamless look.
Additionally, a professional stylist can cut and style the extensions to blend seamlessly with your natural hair, offering a look that enhances volume and coverage where needed.
Answer: Scalp and hair care are crucial, especially when dealing with alopecia.
Use gentle, sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners to keep your scalp healthy. Regularly massage the scalp to stimulate blood flow, which can promote hair health and growth.
Ensure you remove clip-in extensions before sleeping and give your scalp a break from halo extensions as needed to let your skin breathe and prevent any potential tension.
Answer: Generally, lighter materials put less strain on the scalp and hair follicles.
Human hair extensions are preferable because they can be styled, washed, and treated much like your own hair, offering a natural appearance and feel. Synthetic extensions might be lighter and less expensive, but they can look less natural and are less versatile in terms of styling.
When possible, avoid heavy extensions or those that require tight braids, weaves, or adhesives that could further irritate or stress the scalp.
]]>The hardest part about growing your hair to your desired length is retaining the inches you’ve already grown.
It's imperative that when your hair is growing healthy you maintain it and take care of it to keep it growing healthy.
Of course, if you want longer hair without the hassle you can always grab a human hair glueless wig. You can pop it on and off and not worry so much about the long hair woes.
Keep reading this article to discover some tips and tricks used by a lot of women when it comes to taking care of your long hair.
It probably goes without saying, but breakage is your hair’s mortal enemy, and like kryptonite, to Superman, you can encounter breakage at every turn.
When brushing your hair be sure to brush through your strands gently finger detangle any knots, and if you hear a distinct *CRACKLE* that is breakage, and you have gone through your hair too roughly.
Be patient when working through your hair with any detangling tools.
For Naturals: Be sure to comb your hair when it is at least slightly damp; moisture is your friend when trying to detangle and avoid breakage.
Dry hair will snag on any comb or brush that you try to use during your wash day process.
For All Hair Types: Be sure to comb through your hair, section by section, and starting from the bottom up to limit snags as you work your way through the hair shaft.
When drying your hair try wrapping and wringing your hair out with an old cotton tee instead of your bath towel.
Yes, both are cotton, but the texture of a bath towel is a lot rougher than that of a t-shirt, and when your hair is dripping wet it tends to be at its weakest point.
The towels’ grooves and loops will cling to your hair and snap your strands when you are trying to rid yourself of the excess water.
Instead, put your head through the neck of the t-shirt and wrap the body of the tee around your head into a bun. Leave the bun for about ten minutes so that the water can absorb and then let it down to continue to detangle and style as usual.
Friction is not your friend.
Use a silk or satin pillowcase or bonnet to avoid your hair experiencing friction, damage, and then finally breakage.
Softer materials are less likely to result in split ends which will have to be cut off and delay length retention.
It may also be beneficial to braid your hair before you put it in a bonnet. That way it makes it hard for your hair to get out from under the bonnet or end up with any tangles that need to be worked through in the morning from your tossing and turning.
Speaking of split ends, everyone has their theory on when and how much hair you should trim.
However, to take care of your long tresses, you should only trim when required.
There is no need to go to your trusted cosmetologist every 4 to 6 weeks if your ends are just as blunt as the day she trimmed them the month before.
Sure, it is important to keep up with your split ends and take care so that the hair does not continue to split up the hair shaft, but there is no need to trim hair unnecessarily.
Your hair speaks volumes, and sometimes you just have to listen to know how to treat it and ensure that it is taken care of properly.
Now, we all know that dry hair is a no go, but some of us may think that our hair has the necessary amount of moisture just because we have hair that has grown past our shoulders.
WRONG!
If your hair is rough to the touch, snapping, or popping excessively even with the gentle combing instructions listed above, we need to moisturize it.
The moisture will eliminate that brittle feeling and promote elasticity. You can do that with a DIY deep condition or products from one of your favorite hair care lines.
The L.O.C method is a personal favorite.
The initials stand for Liquid Oil Cream. When my hair is unusually dry, I use the L.O.C Method to ensure moisture retention.
The L.O.C method is good for in-between wash days and requires a layering of products. First, you should apply a water-based liquid to the hair, then seal the moisture with oil, and finally administer a cream or butter to style.
However, there are times when we expose our hair to too much of a good thing. When your hair starts to feel limp and too moist, almost to the point where it is mushy, your long locks may be missing protein.
A lack of protein can also cause breakage and result in ends that look see-through.
To maintain consistency throughout the density of your hair make sure that you do not over moisturize and treat your hair to a protein treatment every now and again to strengthen the hair shaft.
A clean scalp is essential to the growth and maintenance of long hair.
If the hair follicles on your scalp are filled with dirt and blockage, your hair is not going to grow through all of that. It is important to shampoo your hair properly and as often as needed to rid your scalp and strands of product build-up.
Product build-up on the hair strand will block any moisture or protein that needs to penetrate the hair shaft and strengthen your hair.
You may think that it does not matter how you tackle the shampooing portion of your wash day.
Hey, as long as the soap gets everywhere and water rinses it all out that is mission accomplished; right?
WRONG!
Washing your hair in one large section that will lead to snags, single strand knots, and breakage.
Instead, you should section your hair into four smaller sections when washing so that you can avoid any unnecessary knots or tangles.
Now onto the science portion of today’s lesson.
The typical shampoo is basic, which means the pH level is high.
Your hair is acidic which is the opposite of basic, and the two do not like to co-mingle as much as you would think. That is why you hear so much about shampoos stripping your hair of its natural oils.
And even worse, is over washed hair that can result in the hair shaft being compromised and wearing away.
Your hair and skin react well to a solution with a pH of about 5.5.
A good astringent to use to clean your scalp and hair would be diluted apple cider vinegar. To do that you should fill an empty spray bottle with two parts water and part ACV.
This solution will give you the perfect amount of ACV to cleanse your scalp on wash day.
Co-washing is also an effective way to cleanse your hair and give you an extra boost of moisture.
Use this method of cleansing if you are looking to get rid of mold build-up or in between big wash days
. A clean scalp is crucial to hair growth. However, if you have a lot of product build-up, an old-fashion shampoo may be a better option for you.
When it comes to taking care of your hair, you are what you eat remains true!
Your hair grows from inside of your body, so to ensure luxurious, healthy-looking hair, be sure to take heed to what you are putting in your body.
A well-balanced diet of low-fat proteins, dairy, fruits, veggies, and whole grains will promote strong and healthy hair less prone to breakage. If you know that you may not intake all of the proper nutrients that a balanced diet requires, you may want to consult with your physician about taking a vitamin or supplement that your hair can benefit from.
Many people promote taking Biotin to stimulate hair growth and thickening but to affect the hair that is already flowing from your scalp you should try vitamin E.
Vitamin E will keep your hair healthy and do wonders for your skin and nails as well. For immediate results, if you do not want to take the pill orally you can also crack the vitamin open and apply the oil inside the pill directly to your hair.
Exercise also plays a part in maintaining healthy strands.
Stress from work or personal issues can lead to bald spots and unnecessary shedding anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks after a very stressful occurrence especially when it goes unresolved.
Try exercising before it gets to the point of hair loss, and ease any anxiety or stress.
Long hair will stay long if you style it in ways that are not too stressful to the hair shaft.
It is also important that you avoid styles that may cause your ends to brush against your shoulders or rough clothing.
Simple hairstyles that do not require a lot of upkeep are key, and this is where protective styles come into play.
Weaves, braids, or buns are ideal because they enable to you moisturize your scalp, wash your scalp as needed, and keep your ends tucked away deterring split ends.
Also, when putting your hair in a bun or high ponytail be sure to use an elastic band with no metal bit; the bit can snag on your hair and cause breakage.
Sidebar:
Human Hair Weave and braided styles are great protective styles but are sure to stay away from braiders who may incorporate too much tension in their styling methods. Braids that are exerting too much tension and leave you with little white puss-filled bumps will likely result in breakage or a bald spot and defeat the purpose of your protective style.
Keep your hands out of your beautiful long hair!
I know it is a challenge to resist the urge, but you must!
Every time you run your fingers through your hair you risk the onset of a large knot or numerous tangles popping up as a result. So every time you twirl, coil, or flick your hair over your shoulder think about breaking out those scissors to cut off the single strand knot you formed down your hair shaft.
Sidebar:
Even though we want to discourage you from keeping your hands in your hair unnecessarily, a good scalp massage has amazing benefits to the health of your hair and rate of hair growth.
Massage your scalp two to three times a week to stimulate your scalp and promote hair growth and healthy appearance of your hair.
Blow dryers and flat irons are not your long hair's friends. Sure we all want that bone-straight look every once in a blue moon. However, constant heat on the daily will result in heat damage and fried ends. You will eventually be forced to cut the damage, and that does not lead to length retention.
An alternative to flat irons includes large rollers that you can use to stretch the hair and give it a straighter texture, or try keeping your flat iron below 300 degrees. That is said to be the highest temperature that your hair can take and still revert to its healthy state once wet.
You can also blow dry your hair on a cool setting or try braid curls to give your hair a wavy look as opposed to wand curls.
Taking care of longer tresses require a little more time and patience than shorter lengths. The hair towards the end of the strand is older and more fragile than the new growth.
However, with a little TLC, you can take care of your locks
Answer: The ideal frequency depends on your hair type and lifestyle. For most people, washing long hair 2-3 times a week is sufficient. Over-washing can strip your hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness, while under-washing can cause buildup.
If you have an oily scalp or exercise frequently, you might need to wash your hair more often, but consider using a mild shampoo to protect your hair's natural moisture.
Answer: Preventing split ends is key to maintaining the health and appearance of long hair.
Regular trims every 6-8 weeks are crucial, even if you're growing your hair out. Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle gently, start from the ends and work your way up, and avoid brushing wet hair as it's more prone to damage.
Additionally, using a leave-in conditioner or hair serum can help protect the ends from splitting.
Answer: Reducing hair breakage involves gentle handling and proper moisturization.
Always dry your hair with a soft towel or a t-shirt instead of rubbing it vigorously.
Use heat protectant products before styling with heat tools and minimize the use of high-temperature settings. Incorporate hair masks or deep conditioning treatments into your routine to strengthen your hair and keep it hydrated.
Answer: Start by selecting a brush with natural bristles or a wide-tooth comb to minimize damage. Begin detangling from the ends and gradually work your way up to the roots to prevent pulling and breakage.
Brushing your hair when it's dry is generally better to avoid stress on the hair strands. Doing this methodically can also distribute natural oils from the scalp through the lengths, adding shine and health.
Answer: Protecting your hair while you sleep can prevent tangles, breakage, and frizz. Tie your hair in a loose braid or a low ponytail to prevent tangling.
Using a silk bonnet or satin pillowcase can also reduce friction on your hair, which helps prevent damage and split ends. Additionally, avoid going to bed with wet hair, as it's more vulnerable to breakage.

]]>Wigs can be worn for switching up styles or as a protective style.
There are very definite times when you might have to wear a wig – maybe you're an actor, someone who had just lost your hair because of a disease, or personal preference. They save time and provide convenience.
Whatever those reasons are for wearing one, you must be familiar with a handy tool called a wig cap. There are several kinds of wig caps on the market, each one with their traits; like providing multi-directional parting, breathable material, providing great comfort to hair underneath, etc.
All have their pros and cons, so before purchasing, you need to find one that fits your needs.
Wig caps are essential for protecting your natural hair or scalp by placing it over your head before wearing your wig.
Reliable ones must be able to keep natural hair as flat as possible without tearing.
Wig caps come in colors such as black and a fleshly nude color.
Ever experience itchiness from wearing a wig?
A wig cap can help with that.
Do you get hot or start to sweat while wearing a wig? Mesh, a breathable wig cap can help to prevent your scalp from being heated by the warm air that is between the wig cap and the wig itself.
If you are making your wigs, the correct wig cap can help with the customization of your wig. Wig caps are used for all types of wigs including closure wigs, glueless wigs, lace front wigs, and more!
Regardless of the several types of wig caps, gathering all the hair underneath it before putting on one can be tricky.
Unless the natural hair is very short, there will probably be at least a few stray hairs that you will need to tuck away. Style the hair underneath in cornrows or a slicked bun that is flat.
A rat-tail comb with a long handle can be used to slide the stray hair into the cap.
Position the cap at the front where your natural hairline is. Pull the wig cap over your hair, and stretch the cap over your head until it is secure at your nape. Adjust the sides of the wig cap so that it is behind your ears.
If you have long or thick hair, slightly dampen it for easier control. The wig cap should feel secure but not too tight.
Make sure that your hair underneath is not showing, and the fit is to your liking.
Place the wig on top of the cap, and you are ready to slay the day away!
There are different types of caps out there for different types of human hair wigs. Let's get into them!
This consists of nylon or cotton fabric.
It is meant to be worn under wigs to flatten the braids underneath.
It is not ideal for sew-ins, quick weaves, or making wigs; the material is not sturdy enough to hold the weight of extensions.
Domes caps are commonly used for quick weaves or worn under wigs, but you can also use this to make your wig.
It has a thick band that helps the wig stay in place. This cap is thicker than the nylon wig cap and has a spandex material.
For people that have thick hair, this cap is perfect for flattening the hair.
A dome cap can help hide thick hair, so it will not show or poke out from underneath the wig.
This is perfect for making a wig! This cap is common with sew-in styles; you will sew the extensions on the cap instead of your hair.
Having the extensions sewn on the cap can alleviate the weight of the hair as well.
The weaving cap has a mesh material (small holes) that has adjustable straps for a custom fitting. The perforated material allows for a barrier in between the weave extensions and the hair underneath.
The material also helps the extensions to dry faster after washing the hair.
Making a U-Part wig allows you to leave your hair out in the front.
Most of the U-Part caps come with adjustable straps, and the material is a stretchable mesh material. You can buy this with a middle part, or side part.
The U-Part usually comes in available in a standard size and has adjustable straps in the back. Extensions can be sewn or glued to cap and place a lace closure on the top.
They are breathable and durable.
These are lightweight mesh caps with a thick band.
The mesh material lets the hair breathe underneath and helps to dry quickly if washed. The Japanese swim works well for making wigs, and if you have a closure that you want to attach to the top.
While they do not come with adjustable straps or combs, you can buy the combs and sew them into the cap if needed.
This cap is ideal for those creating their wigs rather than those just wanting to catch their hair in a net.
The best steps for cleaning a wig cap are usually hand washing and air drying.
You will be able to reuse a sturdy mesh or cotton cap if it still holds its shape.
Nylon wig caps are inexpensive and often come in packs of two; these will probably not last many washes before they stretch and become unusable.
You can locate these wig caps at your local beauty supply store or online.
Wig caps are just as important when it comes to proper fit, comfort, and durability. Your specific needs, the type of wig style, and longevity should determine your wig cap choice.
The purpose of one is to be the base layer for your wig and the groundwork for a look that will stay firmly in place.
Wearing a wig cap also helps to preserve the cleanliness of the wig, as it parts the wig from the scalp and hair.
While wearing a wig cap is essential, it is also a personal choice.
Our advice is to help you decide on what you are comfortable with doing.
Answer: Yes, wearing a wig cap is recommended for several reasons. It helps to keep your natural hair flat, making the wig look more natural and seamless.
It also protects your hair from friction with the wig and can help absorb sweat, making the wig more comfortable to wear. Additionally, for those with little to no hair, a wig cap provides an extra layer of comfort and security.
Answer: There are several types of wig caps, including nylon, cotton, and mesh caps.
Nylon wig caps are lightweight and affordable, suitable for short-term wear. Cotton caps are breathable and better for sensitive scalps or long-term wear, but they can be a bit bulkier. Mesh wig caps are great for those with longer natural hair because they offer more room and breathability.
The right choice depends on your personal comfort, scalp sensitivity, and the amount of natural hair you have.
Answer: To properly wear a wig cap, start by pulling back and securing your natural hair, if you have any, to create a smooth surface.
If your hair is longer, you might tie it into a low bun or use pins to keep it flat. Stretch the wig cap over your head, starting from the forehead, and pull it down to the nape of your neck, ensuring all your hair is tucked in.
Adjust the cap so that it sits comfortably and securely without being too tight.
Answer: When used properly, wig caps should not damage your natural hair.
However, make sure the cap is not too tight, as constant pressure can lead to breakage or damage to the hairline. Also, choose wig caps made from breathable materials to prevent trapping moisture, which can lead to scalp issues or hair breakage.
Regularly washing your wig cap and maintaining a healthy scalp will also prevent any potential damage.
Answer: It's essential to keep your wig cap clean for scalp health and hygiene.
Wash your wig cap after every few wears, or more frequently if you sweat a lot or have an oily scalp. Hand wash the cap in lukewarm water with a gentle, fragrance-free soap. Rinse thoroughly, gently squeeze out excess water (do not wring), and lay it flat to air dry.
Avoid using fabric softeners or harsh chemicals that could irritate the scalp.
]]>Dropshipping hair extensions is a technique of business where the product is shipped to the consumer directly from a wholesale warehouse, thus eliminating the need for a company to hold a large amount of stock.
Orders are placed with the retailer, who then, in turn, sends the customer's shipping information to the wholesaler for shipment.
From here the wholesaler ships the item to the customer, often using custom hair extension packaging, such as return labels and packing slips with the retailer's logo. The process helps to cut out the middleman while saving space for the retailer.
There are several benefits to dropshipping hair and it is certainly a great way for an emerging business to get their start.
It gives business owners the ability to start a company with very little initial investment or space needed.
Dropshipping allows them to explore products. It also allows them to offer a wider variety of products because they don’t need to keep them in stock. The amount they will save in costs is very beneficial.
Companies will have the ability to start and run a business from anywhere. Companies can even run from remote locations. All of this and more is possible for an online retailer that utilizes drop shipping.
Think about this... Who is going to pack and ship your orders when you are out of town? If you have grown big enough you might have a shipping team but otherwise it might have to be a friend or family member.
Are you sure that's a good idea?
Read on to discover the benefits of dropshipping in detail.
One popular reason retailers choose dropshipping is that it has the capability to entirely eliminate the costs of a storefront.
E-commerce is considered to be the future of retail for many industries because of it's benefits. Dropshipping is a huge contributor to the success of many online retailers. Because the retailer doesn't hold any product in stock, they, therefore, don't need the space to store the product.
A hair store has expenses that adds up quick. Think about the cost of the lease, utilities, staffing, insurance, and a whole lot more.
Without needing to maintain a storefront, they are able to dedicate more time to selling the product and promoting their hair extension website or business.
A digital storefront allows you to start a business whether or not you have a physical location.
Dropshipping helps to accommodate those who don't have much space or who want to run a business from home. It also means the retailer is able to move the business without disrupting their service to customers.
They are able to travel or move to a new location while maintaining their business.
For those businesses who prefer to also have a physical store, they can do it in a much smaller space.
Many of our Dropship Beauty clients run their business from a laptop or cell phone!
They are able to offer a wide variety of items without needing the warehouse or storage space. For those with a storefront, you can display the product you sell to show consumers what they are purchasing. Afterward, you can ship the product directly to the consumer after they purchase it via dropshipping.
Having a small space means they can have multiple storefronts if they choose. Businesses won't need to put all of their funding into a large storage place. It also opens up options as to the location they are able to offer their services. This is an exceptionally good way to sell large products that require delivery.
Regardless of whether these products are held in stock or at a wholesale warehouse, this will work. It also means for those doing E-commerce, that they'll only need a space to run their website and take customer calls.
Having a small storefront or no storefront at all results in huge savings for the retailer.
For online retailers, no physical storefront means they don't have to rent or purchase a store, plus all the maintenance related fees, insurance, electricity, water, and other utilities.
This is an incredible amount of money savings. With these savings, they are able to hold a hire profit for what they do sell utilizing dropshipping, and potentially pass these savings on to the consumer.
For retailers who do maintain a storefront in addition to their online presence, much less space is required because they don't need room for the product.
This also eliminates the payroll needs of employees to unpack, stock and in some cases, repack and ship the product.
Additionally, because the product comes directly from the warehouse, the profit margin is the amount they choose to charge for the item over wholesale costs, with a shipping fee taken out.
A huge benefit of dropshipping, as a result of the cost savings and need for little space, is the ease of business entry.
The initial investment is reduced greatly by utilizing dropshipping when starting a new company.
Those who are just starting out need very little startup funds because they don’t need the upfront costs of stocking products before they can be purchased, or for renting a large space in which the business can be run.
These upfront savings allow for a business to get a better foundation in place as they start their company.
Our sister brand, Dropship Beauty, has affordable dropship hair websites that can get your business up and running in a snap!
There is also the added benefit of having the money in hand as soon as an order goes through, covering the cost of buying it from the wholesaler with the profit on top. There is no need to pay for the product in advance because it is paid as the demand is met. This ensures the retailer never has overstock or has to carry products from the previous season.
It also means they can sample the products to sell without committing to always having them in stock.
Particularly for retailers with a small staff, the time-saving benefits of dropshipping are a game-changer.
Because there is no need to run a huge store, and stock, pack, and ship products, there is much less of a time commitment or need for employees.
With time benefits, the retailer can then work on ensuring their company thrives rather than making sure the shelves are properly stocked.
An additional benefit of saving time is that the retailer is able to improve the customer experience.
They are able to dedicate their time to providing excellent customer service. The retailer can also better understand the products they are selling so they can provide informed advice to their consumers. They can also focus on marketing their business because they are able to save on upfront costs.
They can invest in marketing to ensure the success of their endeavor.
When a new hair extension product is available through a wholesaler, there can often be a several-week-long delay before retailers receive the product.
This is because the retailer has to dedicate time to packaging and shipping it to retailers. A benefit of dropshipping is that as soon as it becomes available in the wholesaler’s inventory, the retailer is able to immediately market and sell the product.
For instance, this year we are adding a collection of Glueless Wigs, 2x6 Closures, Seamless Clip-ins, and much more to our dropship hair offerings. Not having to keep up with all the new products is a huge bonus!
With such a fast introduction of new products to the market, those retailers who utilize drop shipping are a step ahead of other companies. Their reputation will benefit from the fast turnaround of receiving new products.
It also means consumers may browse the website more often in search of new products which can lead to increased business from impulse buys.
Higher web traffic is beneficial to a new company.
There are no constraints on how large an E-commerce company can grow when it relies on dropshipping for order fulfillment.
As the business grows, the workload doesn’t increase. There is no additional need for hiring more workers to package and ship the product because this portion of the process is handled by the wholesaler.
There also is little need for a larger space if the company increases its product volume because the product is not on site.
As the demand increases, there may be the need for additional customer service, but this ensures the company maintains the level of quality that it grew its business on.
It's important you are working with a reputable dropship hair company. Many clients work with the Private Label team because we have been in business since 2014 and have thousands of dropship clients.
Time can be spent training new employees on their customer service skills rather than training them on packing and shipping.
Dropshipping allows for all the employees for the retailer being well versed and trained in the hair extension industry.
When a business utilizes dropshipping, it can leave packing to the professionals.
It isn’t necessary to stock shipping supplies, pay for shipping or even have any experience in packing and shipping. The shipping and handling are left to the wholesalers. The wholesalers have all the necessary knowledge and supplies to ship the product.
This ensures the product arrives at the customer in the same condition in which it left the warehouse.
It can also help the product arrive to the customer faster when there is a dedicated team of packers at the warehouse.
Dropshipping is especially beneficial for companies selling high-value products such as raw hair bundles. It isn’t necessary to invest in security systems and private storage that are made to secure expensive inventory as this responsibility is left to the wholesaler.
This is hugely beneficial to retailers as they can specialize in marketing the product, without having to worry about the stress of shipping and inventory.
As a result of not needing storage space, online retailers who dropship, are able to offer a wider variety of lengths and styles.
Carrying a diverse stock of hair extensions will help to attract a larger audience of customers. When a retailer has to provide storage for the multiple variations of each item, they may have to narrow their stock down to two or three different versions.
If they utilize the dropshipping, they are able to sell many different items and many different models or versions of said item without having to maintain a storage facility or warehouse.
The same can be said in a storefront, they can display more options without having to stock them all.
There are many popular options when setting up shop to dropship hair.
Some of the most popular products include:
The possibilities are endless!
This gives companies that operate using the dropship method of order fulfillment a benefit over competitors. When a company offers a wide selection, they are likely to offer consumers the exact product they want.
In doing so, they are able to provide a better level of satisfaction to their customers.
When a retailer offers a wide variety of stock, they are able to attract a wider demographic of consumers.
For retailers who offer a very specific item, dropshipping allows you to ship the item anywhere. This helps specialized businesses to thrive when they may not otherwise due to a lack of customers.
Companies who don’t have a specialized stock can reach a wider network of consumers because they can dropship anywhere. This is beneficial to both the consumer and the retailer, as they can get consumers outside of their typical area. Engaging in E-commerce is great for getting a large customer base. E-commerce gives people who may not have known about the company access to it through the internet.
Dropshipping extensions offers those in the hair industry opportunities they may not have been able to attain through regular shipping. It opens doors for niche market companies. Dropshipping also allows retailers to offer a wide array of products without the need to house them all. It also offers them flexibility in the location to run the business.
It can move as needed and as the market changes. Companies just getting their start are able to save money and focus on their marketing. They are able to gain a large customer base while maintaining a limited inventory and low investment.

Taking care of your hair extensions can be one of the simplest things on the earth, depending on who you ask. Making sure the money that you spent doesn't go to waste should be a priority for you.
Remember that weave cannot get any nutrients from your body, and if not taken care of properly it can become dull, dry, and develop split ends.
Although there are tons of products out there that can be a lifesaver for hair weave, we want to narrow down to one product in particular, and that is leave-in conditioners. Washing your extensions and keeping it fresh and clean is also a great place to start in maintaining its longevity.
But the second and ultimately the best way to have shine and luster to your weave is picking a great leave-in conditioner. You can't just buy any product to place in your hair, because using the wrong one can lead to you damaging or even ruining your precious weave. When you find that perfect conditioner you want to stay away from anything that contains too much oil.
And to use only a small amount, because if not you could deal with a ton of matting and a tangled mess on your hands. Instead of stressing yourself out with the search on your own, we've decided to give you a little help.

What a lot of people don't know is that Shea Moisture if full of organic and natural Ingredients this may have to do with the higher prices they bring, but it is surely worth the cost. From as long as I can remember this product has been on the market for the longest, and I have heard nothing but the highest reviews.
So, if you have heard about this product don't give a second look go ahead and buy, and I am sure that you are not going to be disappointed.
Marco Pelusi Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner seems to have customers in love.
One reader says that this product doesn't weigh down your hair and leaves silky smooth to the touch. Well, I have also taken some time to do some research, and this leave-in conditioner works great for taming thick and frizzy hair.
You can also use this product on your natural curls, so it's a 2 in 1 kind of deal if you like to do leave out sew-in. I think when it comes to finding the best product it's all about de-tangling and protecting the overall longevity of your weave.
So, give Marco Pelusi Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner a try the next time you stop by your local beauty or drug store.
The bed head superstar leave-in conditioner helps your extensions remain soft and healthier.
The anti-frizz fighting formula can prevent split ends from forming and in turn, can help keep your weave from being damaged. Did I mention that it also comes with a yummy strawberry scent? The aroma itself will make you fall in love as well as its price.
This conditioner is probably the cheapest out of the entire list with an average price of 8 dollars. You can find this beautiful product at your local drug and beauty store, so be sure to stock up on this one my loves.
This leave-in product from its ten works wonders on an old or new weave.
There are fighting ingredients that help restore health in your extensions by sealing preventing split ends and replacing lost protein in the strands. You can find on the label that this conditioner is full of natural keratin amino acids and aloe leaf, meaning that you can count on it adding luster and shine to your hair with every use.
This product will prevent future breakage from happening and add some extra bounce to your locks. You can't find this excellent conditioner at just any store it's available online through Amazon for about 14 dollars. Trust me, when it comes to this product a little goes a very long way.
Let us know if you give "it's a 10" a try shortly.
I have heard nothing but fantastic news when it comes to the brand, living proof, but I have yet to try out any of their products.
Their leave-in conditioner is great when it comes to curly or wavy hair extensions. It's so easy for the bouncy weave to become frizzy and frizz can lead to your hair being matted, and from that point, you might as well call it a day and throw the whole hair extensions away.
But this product has an anti-frizz ingredient that will help restore dry and brittle hair that can help restore moisture to your weave. If you want smooth and silky strands that are sure to last then this conditioner is a must-have in your styling cabinets.
Mr. Incredible is like a salon bar I'm a bottle. This leave-in conditioner is full of hints of mint, ginger, and sandalwood.
These ingredients help condition, soften, and detangle your extensions which will, in turn, help them last longer. These are one of those conditioners that are perfect for your weave but not for natural hair.
This product is sensitive especially on bright hair, and if you plan on using the strands growing out of your head, then you should apply it sparingly. Since this spray is very lightweight, it will not leave any gunky residue of your locks that might cause your weave to lose its life.
As far as your extensions this is a great bet because it keeps those strands healthy and ready to last another day. Mr. Incredible also offers many other salon products on Drybar's website so be sure to give them a look if you plan on purchasing this excellent leave-in conditioner.
I thought it would be best to end this list with a superb and versatile leave-in conditioner that has left customers all on the rave.
Although this product is a little on the pricey side, all you will need is a quarter-sizes amount in your palms, and that is enough to smooth, shine, and restore damaging extensions. Ingredients include the Argan oil and just for a side note, placing certain vitamin E oils on your extensions can make a significant difference to its longevity.
This moisturizing cream acts as styling gel as well as a leave-in conditioner, and I believe that's the main reason people cannot get enough of it. So, pull out your wallets and pocketbooks because this short time investment will save you a ton in the long run.
I hope this list was helpful and that now you're able to pick out the right leave-in conditioners for your hair extensions.
Remember that these products help detangle, add shine, and keep luster in your weave, it doesn't always have to feel greasy and heavy because some of them come in a spray bottle form. And finding a conditioner that helps protect color and pigments in your strands can be a fantastic bonus.
Prevents Dryness: Leave-in conditioners are designed to penetrate the hair shaft and infuse it with moisture, which is crucial for maintaining the health and vibrancy of hair weaves, especially since they don't receive natural oils from the scalp.
Reduces Frizz: By keeping the weave moisturized, leave-in conditioners help to tame frizz and flyaways, making the hair look smoother and more polished.
Eases Detangling: A good leave-in conditioner can significantly reduce the effort needed to detangle hair, minimizing breakage and shedding. This is particularly important for weaves, which can be more prone to tangling due to their nature and the way they are installed.
Enhances Styling: With improved manageability, styling becomes easier, whether you're aiming for a sleek, straight look or defining curls. Leave-in conditioners can help in maintaining the desired style for longer periods.
Environmental Protection: Leave-in conditioners can form a protective barrier over the hair shaft, shielding it from environmental aggressors like sun damage, pollution, and extreme temperatures, which can lead to fading, dryness, and deterioration of the weave.
Heat Protection: Many leave-in conditioners contain ingredients that offer some degree of heat protection, reducing damage from styling tools such as blow dryers, flat irons, and curling irons. This is especially beneficial for weaves made from human hair, which, like natural hair, can suffer from heat damage.
So, take the time out to see which product on this list fits best with your lifestyle. If you have a favorite leave-in conditioner that you love to use on your extensions, let us know in the comments down below.
]]>I don't know about you but I hate when my hair tangles!
We love our hair extensions but they can become tangled, matted, and we don't even know why.
Why is your hair weave tangled and matted in the first place?
There are numerous reasons why hair extensions can become tangled or matted. There is never just one cause for anything so let's discuss it.
Here are some tips to help prevent tangling and the frustration it comes with.
First and foremost, not taking proper care of your hair extensions will eventually cause them to tangle and mat up.
The sidekick to poor hair care is terrible hair quality. You cannot buy cheap hair and assume that you can get much wear out of it before it begins to tangle and eventually mat up. It is best to focus on quality and you have to pay for quality.
Quick Tip: Consider investing in Raw Hair Weave for the best hair!
Poor quality hair can be overly processed which will cause it to become tangled and matted at the first touch of water, heat or even weather conditions. You probably never thought that weather conditions could affect your hair extensions.
Harsh weather and extreme weather conditions can change any human hair weave for the worst.
Alongside weather and poor hair care; hair products take a toll on hair extensions as well.
The proper hair products make all the difference in whether hair weave will mat up and tangle or be soft and manageable. Do your research and find out what products work best for which hair textures and stick to using those products.
If you love risking your hair's quality with hair products, then expect the possible consequences of your sew-in tangling and matting up.
The hair extensions are dry or damaged and can become brittle Now that the blame game is over and you understand why your hair extensions are tangling let's look for a solution.
We will also discuss super easy ways to prevent tangling and matting.
Yes, it's just that simple!
Brushing your hair can help prevent tangling so that your hair won't become matted down the road. Although brushing your hair extensions sounds foolproof, there is a correct way to brush your extensions.
Always brush your hair extensions from the ends and upwards. This will help the hair strands from becoming split or breaking off as well as can help the shedding and the tangling. Another key to brushing your extensions is to brush your hair while dry.
When your hair extensions are wet, it is better to use a wide-toothed comb to comb from the bottom and on up. Hair extensions tend to get tangled the most at the ends due to knots.
These knots appear when the hair hasn't been brushed or combed in several hours or days.
As mentioned before, the hair products you use rather good or bad quality can alter the hair.
Using hair products that contain sulfates can strip the extensions which cause them to become weaker as the product sits.
Always use a good conditioner and shampoo combo when washing hair. Also, use products that apply moisture and provide hydration to your hair extensions as dry hair can lead to tangles and eventually matting.
Using the right products can help keep your hair extensions soft and manageable.
If you do not tie your hair up at night, the extensions can rub against the pillowcase all night.
Hair rubbing against a pillowcase causes friction that can lead to frizziness that will become tangled hair by the time you wake up. Tying your hair up at night means nothing if you do not tie it up with a silk scarf or bonnet.
You can even get a satin or silk pillowcase if you notice that you always fall asleep without tying up your hair up. A silk scarf, bonnet or satin pillowcase cost less than ten dollars at your local beauty supply store or local drugstore.
Prevent tangling at all cost! Protecting your hair is important but its just as important at nighttime.
Detangling is your best friend!
I already mentioned to brush your hair extensions already, however brushing is different from detangling. Brushing is a proactive step to prevent tangling, but once your hair is tangled, you'll need to detangle it.
Detangling is a prevention measure for hair extensions so that they won't become matted. The best time to detangle (Check out this article: how to detangle matted weave) hair extensions is while wet but as mentioned before: use a comb when hair is wet.
You can also use your fingers as a tool to help get the tangles out so there is less tension and pulling while using a comb or brush.
Ensure it is done thoroughly!
Preventing your hair extensions from tangling and becoming matted is not rocket science.
Remember, curly hair weave is more prone to tangling compared to straight hair weave.
All it takes is the proper care and attention. It also helps to use the appropriate products on your hair and tends to your extensions several times a day.
Don't run for the hills at first sight of tangling or matting ladies; you have the power to turn an annoying situation around in your favor.
Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: Select products specifically designed for weaves or extensions. These should be hydrating but not too heavy, as you don't want to weigh down the weave. Look for sulfate-free shampoos and silicone-free conditioners to avoid drying out the hair.
Leave-In Conditioner or Hair Serum: A good leave-in conditioner or hair serum can provide extra moisture and make detangling easier. Apply it sparingly to avoid buildup.
Wash Your Weave Regularly: Depending on your activity level and scalp needs, washing your weave every 1 to 2 weeks is ideal to prevent buildup of products and sweat which can contribute to tangling and matting.
Deep Conditioning: After washing, apply a deep conditioner to help restore moisture and elasticity. This is particularly important for curly or textured weaves.
Avoid Rubbing with a Towel: Gently pat your weave dry with a soft towel instead of rubbing it, to prevent tangling.
Air Dry When Possible: Let your weave air dry whenever you can. If you must use a hair dryer, use it on a low heat setting and keep it moving to avoid concentrating heat in one area.
Use a Wide-Tooth Comb: Start detangling from the ends and work your way up to the roots to prevent unnecessary shedding and breakage. Doing this regularly can prevent tangles from becoming mats.
Detangle When Damp: Detangling when the hair is damp and conditioned is easier and causes less breakage. Remember to be gentle and take your time.
Wrap Your Weave: Use a silk or satin scarf or bonnet when you sleep. This reduces friction, which can cause tangling and matting. Alternatively, use a silk or satin pillowcase.
Braid Your Weave: If your weave is long, consider braiding it loosely before bed. This can help prevent tangles and matting overnight.
Hopefully, these tips help you out. These tips are in no way the end all be all to this issue because tangling will happen one way or another. Although some things with hair extensions are inevitable, that does not mean you cannot be proactive instead of reactive.
You can apply all of these tips to prevent any extra shedding as well.
You're welcome we just killed two birds with one stone!
Always be one step ahead of issues that why you will be prepared for when they happen.
When you stay ready, you don't have to get ready!

Do you want to protect all your hair or have some leave out? Adding wigs or extension hair allows for versatile styles.
Depending on your lifestyle, one style may suit you more than the other. If you are thinking about giving full lace wigs or sew-in extensions a try, below, we will discuss the pros and cons of each!
We will touch base on the installation and removal process, maintenance for your hair underneath, and which style is more secure. Let's get into the weave vs wig debate!
Wig life is bigger than ever!
If you are forever changing up your hairstyle or color, then having full lace wigs gives you the option of quickly changing your hairstyle.
Full lace wigs come in many styles, lengths, and colors that are available to you.
Want shorter hair? No problem.
Just take off your current wig and replace it with a new one. Instead of waiting hours to get extensions sewn in, applying a wig only takes a moment.
Same with the takedown; taking off a wig takes no time, but taking down a full lace wig install takes a couple of hours.
Another pro of wearing a full lace wig is that you have the option of having it applied with lace glue or not.
You can take glue-less full lace wigs on and off, and no tape or adhesive is needed. Most glue-less full lace wigs come with tiny combs that attach to your hair underneath.
Also, installing an elastic band helps secure the wig. While wearing sew-in extensions, you must commit to the style until you take it out.
Full lace wigs give a natural look- due to the lace hairline.
Full lace wigs consist of individual hairs on the lace which gives a more realistic look and mimics the hairline. This allows you to wear the wig in updo styles (ponytails, buns, half up half down), as it is lace all the way around.
Wearing sew in hair extensions may not always pass off as realistic. Hair that is left out while wearing a sew-in may not always blend in with the extension hair.
Wearing a full lace wig that is not secure with adhesive or tape, may slip back or off your head- and no one wants that humiliation!
If you are wary of using glue or tape, take advantage of the clips or straps that are inside of the wig.
The most important thing to know about full lace wigs when using adhesive or glue is that it causes damage to the scalp and hairline if not maintained properly.
Your skin may react with the glue or adhesive and irritate, along with constant applying and reapply. Nobody wants a bad lace front that also damages hair!
We are obviously huge fans of sew-in extensions here at Private Label Extensions. Let's take a closer look at why and what to be careful of.
Whip your hair back and forth! With sew-in extensions, hair extension wefts are sewn onto your hair that is in a braid pattern. This technique is also called "weaving."
Weaving the extension wefts on the braids give a very secure hold. The only way the weft is loose is if the braid is loose. With a full lace wig, you may not have the most secure hold.
Unlike full lace wigs, you do not need any glue or adhesive in the installation process.
No harsh chemicals used in the process, so the damage will be minimal if you maintain the hair underneath. The only tools involved in a sew-in are a threading needle and thread.
With full lace wigs, to have secureness, adhesive or glue is needed.
You do not have to worry about styling your hair underneath every other day while wearing sew-in extensions.
Along with low manipulation comes hair growth. Having a low manipulation hairstyle also saves you time within your daily routine.
No more waking up and spending too much time on your hair routine in the morning. If you have an active lifestyle, low manipulation styles are the way to go.
As discussed above, wearing a sew-in style is more secure.
While having the extensions sewn on the braid, the pressure of the thread looped around your braids (especially if they are small braids) causes a ‘tight' feeling. The constant pulling around your hairline causes damage, and in some cases traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by the weight of the extension hair around the hairline.
Not being able to get to your directly while having sewn-in extensions makes it hard to care for your hair underneath.
Eventually, you have to wash your extensions, and your hair underneath is exposed to the water. Make sure that your hair underneath is completely dry after washing; if your hair does not dry completely, it can cause mold and matting.
The takedown of sew-in extensions is more tedious than the actual installation.
Most women prefer going to the stylist to take down the extensions, so they won't mistakenly cut their hair. It is hard to see the back of your head, so proceed with caution while cutting the thread out of your hair.
Since your hair underneath is in braids for a while, you will experience tangling and shedding. Handle the hair with care during the takedown.
Every hairstyle comes with its pros and cons. Full lace wigs and sew-in extensions are both great protective styles.
A hot trend has been the ease of wearing a human hair glueless wig that offers the best of both worlds.
Some benefits of a glueless wig from Private Label include:
If you are trying to decide between a sew in wig or glueless, you are going to have some tough decisions to make based on your lifestyle.
Some of the professionally colored wigs are Private Label will shock you. They have multiple dimension of color and the virgin hair quality is fantastic.
What's better a glueless wig vs weave, we are going to have to let you decide.
Hopefully, with some of the major pros and cons listed above, this helps you to make a decision. Remember to base your decision on the installation and removal process, how to maintain your hair underneath, and how secure you want the style.
Now that you have read some of the pros and cons of full lace wigs and sew-in extensions, which one will you choose?

]]>Whenever I ’m getting tired of the hair extensions I’m wearing; I like to switch it up.
If I have straight extensions, I like to change it to curly by using various curling methods. Sometimes, I’ll braid it up and wait a few days before unraveling it to reveal luscious curls. It's a little different with curly extensions though.
I’ve never had to worry about my straight extensions reverting after curling them. However, every time that I’ve worn curly extensions, I’ve wondered how I would be able to get the curliness back. Usually, what I’ll do is wait until I’m about to remove the extensions to change the texture. By doing this, I was didn’t have to worry about how to revert my curly extensions because I would be taking them out anyway.
Can You Straighten Curly Hair?
Over time, I’ve learned that it is possible to straighten curly extensions without losing the curl. You don’t have to worry about losing your curly texture when you have great extensions and methods to keep them bouncy.
Are you wondering how you do this? Don’t worry.
We’re going to let you know all the ways you can straighten your curly hair without ruining it.
Before you decide to straighten your curly extensions, you should think about the extension type that you have.
Synthetic hair cannot withstand heat and cannot be manipulated much. When it comes to human hair, you’ll need to make sure that you choose the right extensions. The quality of the extensions is essential because it will determine whether your curly extensions will be able to revert after experiencing heat. Some companies have curly extensions that return with just water.
Other companies have extensions that require water and some product. The point is, you’ll want to choose something that will return quickly and without much hassle. Keep in mind that the kind of curly hair you purchase matters. Why? Well, not all curly hair will revert as easily. For example, afro kinky hair tends to have a frizzy curly texture.
This means that it won’t look exactly like how it did when you initially purchased it. Other styles such as Indian curly and Brazilian curly won’t have any issues going back to a curly state. These textures usually only need water, and they’ll coil back into the state you initially bought it. Make sure you do your proper research when choosing curly extensions.
When you straighten them, you don’t want to risk damaging them, especially if you're going to go back to having a curly style eventually.
Before you choose to straighten your curly extensions, you’ll need to prepare your hair. Clean your extensions with light shampoo and conditioner.
You’ll want to make sure that you choose something that isn’t harsh. Gentle shampoo and conditioner products are always the best option. After rinsing out the product, dry your extensions with towels. Let it dry naturally for about 20 minutes before getting our your blowdryer.
Gently comb and brush your curly extensions to ensure that there are not any knots or tangles in the curls. This process makes it easier for you to straighten your curly extensions. When your extensions are free from knots, slightly dry and clean, you’ll be able to straighten it without issue.
Before you pull out any heating product, you’ll need to use a heat protectant for your hair. Heat protectant is so essential when it comes to both extensions and natural hair.
You’ll want to make sure you purchase one that will get the job done.
After finishing the preparations, you’ll want to pull out a blow dryer.
I prefer to blow-dry the extensions while combing through them because it helps me use less heat during the straightening process. When using the blow dryer, you’ll want to use it on the cool setting. Blow-dry from the roots to ends while gently combing or brushing your curly extensions.
Do this until all of your hair feels dry. It may take a while, but it will be worth it in the end. The less heat you use, the easier it will be to bring your curls back to life after straightening. After the blowdrying process, you’ll start to use your straightener. Using your straightener on the lowest setting possible is crucial.
This will lengthen the process, but you’re going to thank yourself later. While you’re doing all this, make sure that you’re hair is sectioned off into parts. This will make the process less messy. Go through each section until it is straightened and smooth. Apply the necessary product along the way.
Don’t be afraid to crank up the heat if you have minimal time but be mindful of how much.
After you’ve enjoyed an amazingly cute straight style, you’ll need to prepare your curly extensions for reversion.
When bringing your curly extensions back to life, you’ll want to make sure you have all the products necessary. When I’m changing the texture of my extensions to curly, I use curling products such as leave-in conditioner and curling shampoo and conditioners.
You’ll want to wash out the straightening that you did to your extensions. First, you’ll wet your extensions. If you bought the right extensions, then that may be all you need but if not then you’ll need to use a curling shampoo and conditioner.
After wetting the hair, lightly shampoo your extensions. Rinse out the shampoo then add the curling conditioner and let it sit. Let the conditioner sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing it out.
At this point, you should see the curls starting to come back. While rinsing, you’ll want to use your fingers to comb through. After the washing process, apply a leave-in conditioner and pat your curly extensions down with a towel. After that, let your curly extensions air dry and voila!
Your curly look is back!
Preparation is Key: Start with clean, well-conditioned hair to ensure your strands are hydrated and detangled. Use a heat protectant to shield your hair from thermal damage.
Prepping your hair with these products can significantly reduce the risk of damage and make the straightening process smoother. For very curly hair, consider using a leave-in conditioner or a smoothing serum to help manage frizz and add an extra layer of protection.
Choose the Right Tools and Techniques: Invest in a high-quality flat iron with ceramic or tourmaline plates that distribute heat evenly and reduce the chance of heat damage.
Select a flat iron with adjustable temperature settings to tailor the heat level to your hair’s thickness and texture. When straightening, work in small, thin sections starting close to the roots and gently pulling the iron down to the ends in a single, smooth motion.
This method ensures even heat distribution and reduces the need to go over the same section multiple times, minimizing potential harm.
Maintain with Care: After straightening, apply a lightweight oil or serum to the ends of your hair to seal in moisture and enhance shine.
To prolong the straightened style and avoid reintroducing curls or waves, wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf before bed, or sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. This helps to reduce friction and prevent frizz, keeping your hair smooth and straight for longer.
Remember, less frequent use of heat tools contributes to the overall health of your hair, so consider incorporating heat-free styling days into your routine.
Straightening curly extensions can be scary but no worries!
We got you covered. Before you even think about the straight style you’ll create with your curly extensions; you’ll need to make sure you choose the right extensions. Don’t select a texture that you know will be difficult to revert. Super kinky styles will be the most difficult to revert to curly.
However, styles like Indian curly, and Brazilian curly will be able to revert easily. Make sure that you prep your hair before straightening your hair.
When applying heat, use the lowest settings possible. Make sure you’re stocked up on all the curling products that you need to bring your curls back to life afterward. If you follow the instructions above, you should be just fine.
Don’t be afraid to try a new style with your curly extensions.

]]>Celebrities such as Niecy Nash from the TNT show Claws and Yvonne Orji from HBO’s Insecure are rocking one of the latest trends in hair extensions. Kinky straight hair extensions, also known as a blow out straight weave, has become one of the most popular hair textures across the globe.
The reason this type of hair is adored by many is that it is easy to blend, has free-flowing movement, and mimics your natural hair very well. Kinky straight produces a thick and full texture to hair. It can be styled or worn blown out or flat ironed. It will hold curls from a wand or curling iron and matches perfectly with relaxed hair and a silk press.
Kinky straight hair is a hair texture that mimics the appearance of natural Afro-textured hair that has been straightened but still retains some of its natural texture and volume. It offers a versatile look that bridges the gap between straight and curly hair, providing a thick, full appearance that can be styled in various ways.

Private Label Hair provides several ways to maintain your kinky straight hair.
As with any extensions washing and conditioning is a key element to maintaining the look and longevity of your hair.
Wash and condition your hair at least twice a week for a clean and polished look. Keep in mind that washing with shampoo will strip your weave of moisture, so I highly recommended that you use a conditioner after you shampoo.
You can also ditch the shampoo and use a co-wash. Another product that you can grab from your home is Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Soak and rinse your hair with (ACV) for another way to strip your hair. Don't forget to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week to get rid of product build up as well.
Remember, the less you wet or wash your hair, the better it will look. This doesn’t mean you should neglect washing your hair, but avoid the overuse of products such as hair sprays and gels.
If you are trying to clean your hair due to product buildup with shampoo, check out these steps to follow a perfect hair routine.
Use a clarifying shampoo throughout hair.
Wash hair in a downwards motion every single time you wash your hair.
Do not run your hair together. Rubbing hair together will cause it to tangle.
Rinse hair thoroughly to ensure all the product is washed out.
When you condition your hair, use a wide tooth comb to detangle (Check out this article: how to detangle matted weave) and distribute the conditioner throughout the hair evenly. Make sure the hair is entirely coated with conditioner while combing. Once you have combed through the hair, rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Remember to use a cotton shirt to pat dry your hair. Do not rub or scrunch the hair together; rubbing will cause tangles. Then let your hair air dry.
The beautiful thing about this type of texture is that it doesn’t need too many hair products. However, when it is dirty, it is more likely to tangle. Removing tangles isn’t as hard as you may think.
Just run your fingers through your hair and use a paddle brush to smooth it out. Don’t brush from root to ends, because it will cause shedding. Instead, work your way up from the tip to the roots.
A natural textured weave is just like our natural hair.
The only difference you must consider is that our natural hair receives natural oils from your scalp and your hair extensions will not receive the nourishment that it needs unless you provide it. You must have moisturizer for your extensions!
Using oils such as argan and olive oil while your hair damp hair will give your extensions a fantastic shine and will keep it well moisturized, but always remember that less is more when it comes to kinky weaves.
If you want to add some pizazz to your hair, it can be curled but minimize the use of heat, instead use a non-heat method to curl. The heat will do more damage than good. We suggest using heat sparingly to avoid any potential damage.
We’ve covered most of the do’s so we can now address the don'ts. Check out this list that will guide you to kinky straight hair extensions bliss.
Limit the use of hairspray and alcohol-based hair products.
Water keeps it in its natural state so don’t be afraid to get your hair wet.
Too much heat can cause permanent damage.
Use a silk head wrap or pillowcase for protection.
Don't Over Moisturize Your Hair. Too much of anything isn’t good.
Don't overheat your hair, if possible try to stay out of direct sources heat.
Don’t towel dry your hair. Instead, shake your head or squeeze the water out and air dry or use a cotton t-shirt. This will assist with reducing frizz and friction on your hair.
Try to install on a u-part or full wig which will assist with extending the “life of the hair.”
Use heat sparingly and use a heat protectant.
Seal wefts with some a type of weft sealer which will reduce shedding
Do not cut or sew through wefts.
Keeping your kinky straight extensions moisturized, washed and conditioned is key to keeping your hair up to par. Even with all of the tips listed, it’s always a good idea to give your extensions a rest.
Hair usually lasts anywhere from six to 12 weeks, depending on the type of hair and your ability to take good care of it.
When it is time to take out your current weave, make sure you thoroughly condition your natural hair to prepare it to be in its best form to support a new weave.
Versatility in Styling: Kinky straight hair weave offers a unique blend of texture that resembles natural Afro-textured hair while providing the ease of styling associated with straight hair.
This versatility allows women to experiment with various hairstyles, from sleek ponytails to voluminous buns, without committing to a permanent change. It serves as an excellent foundation for both protective styles and sophisticated looks, adapting well to heat styling and manipulation for those who enjoy changing their appearance regularly.
Natural Appearance: One of the primary reasons women love kinky straight hair weave is its ability to mimic the texture of natural, blow-out Afro hair closely. This texture ensures that the weave blends seamlessly with their natural hair, making it appear more authentic and less like a traditional weave.
It's especially appealing for those seeking a natural-looking extension option that complements their African heritage or for anyone looking to add volume and length to their hair in a way that doesn’t look artificial.
Protection and Low Maintenance: Kinky straight weaves provide a protective style that shields natural hair from daily wear and tear, environmental damage, and the need for frequent manipulation.
By tucking away their natural hair, women can prevent breakage and retain moisture, promoting healthier hair growth. Additionally, kinky straight hair weaves are relatively low maintenance compared to other textures.
They require less frequent washing, can be easily detangled, and don't demand intricate daily styling, making them a convenient choice for busy lifestyles or those new to wearing weaves.
For a kinky straight sew-in hairstyle, you will need bundles of kinky straight weave, typically around 2 to 4 depending on the desired thickness and length.
A short hairstyle up to 14" will only require two bundles. Anything more than 26" you will for sure need at least 4 bundles for a full and thick hairstyle. Three bundles will work for most hairstyles between the lengths of 16" - 24" depending on how thick you want your hair.
You'll also require a weaving net to protect your natural hair and provide a flat surface for sewing, a curved sewing needle, and thread that matches the hair color.
Essential tools include a comb, scissors, hair clips for sectioning, and a flat iron if you wish to further straighten or style the extensions.
Additionally, a good quality moisturizer or leave-in conditioner is recommended to maintain the health of your natural hair underneath and to ensure the kinky straight hair weave blend seamlessly for a natural and polished look.

]]>A lot of potential clients ask us, "What Grade is your hair?"
Great question!
If you are looking to buy hair extensions from a reliable hair vendor, you want to know if it is excellent hair and will your clients fall in love with it.
Before we go into the hair grading system, let's see where it first evolved. Understanding the truth behind the names used for hair grading will be important when trying to find the best hair extensions for your money.
1. History of the Hair Grading System
2. How to Grade Hair Extensions
3. What is the Best Grade Hair to Buy?
4. Is there a Universal Hair Grading System?
5. Comparing 5A to 6A to 7A to 8A to 9A to 10A
6. Hair Grading Q & A in the Comments
The hair weave business has changed dramatically over the past decade.
Today, there are so many different types of hair extensions and marketing terms to quantify the quality of hair.
"Chinese manufacturers and Chinese trading companies created the (5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, 10A) grading system as an easy way to explain to their clients "how good the hair is."
Although, there is a catch.
Do you remember just five years ago when "5A" hair was so amazing? That might have been back around 2012 - 2013.
But wait! Then there was "6A" hair in 2014. Of course, that was then the best hair extensions.
In 2015 we were introduced to "7A" Brazilian hair weave was then considered the new top grade.
The amazing "8A" virgin hair was then popular in 2016, and now in 2017, the "9A" hair weave is the best.
In 2018, you would see trading companies trying to say their "10A" hair was the best.
Remember when "11A" hair weave was the new high-grade hair extension and the talk of the town in 2019?
In 2021, we are looking at all sorts of numbers and I don't know if it will ever stop.
Anyone want to make a prediction of what the "Top Grade of Hair" will be in 2030? Probably 20A Grade Hair? Remember, it's all fictitious anyways!
Do you see the trend here? Every year Chinese hair manufacturers add an additional "A" to their hair to stay competitive. In reality, it is all just hair extension marketing.
Currently, there is not a "Universal Standard" for human hair extension grading. Therefore, there is not a standard hair grade chart that you can pull up, and it is accurate.
Technically someone could call their hair extensions 8A despite being smelly, crappy, tangling, non-Remy hair.
Here are some factors you should consider when shopping for virgin hair extensions:
It's essential you know exactly what you are buying and selling to your clients.
Let's go over the type of virgin hair offered here at Private Label.
What is the best grade of hair to buy?
Our phone rings off the hook all day! One of the common questions people ask us is what grade of hair is sold on Private Label?
Would we consider the hair 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, 10A, or what? Do we sell mink hair? What about Japanese denim? The list goes on!
To be honest, all the numbers and name to describe hair extensions is 100% marketing.
Let me quickly go over the Human Hair options that are available at Private Label. Depending on exactly what hairstyle you are trying to achieve should determine the level of quality hair needed.
Basically, I don't recommend using Raw Hair for a quick weave!
The Malaysian body wave and Malaysian straight weave are a fantastic value for the price.
The natural 1b color blends very well and is styled very easily.
Our clients have enjoyed the price vs quality of the Malaysian Hair. The construction of the matching closures and frontals is excellent!
Pro Tip: When companies call products "Malaysian" or "Brazilian" it's also marketing like the grading system. You are NOT wearing real Brazilian hair. It's often referred to a country to help distinguish a product. Unfortunately, if you don't use these terms it often confuses clients.
If you or your customers are looking for low-cost options, then this would be it. Not everyone can afford the most expensive hair so offering an alternative will increase your customer base.
If you call us or visit a Private Label Showroom, our staff can show you the Malaysian hair in person so you can feel it for yourself!
Ready to take it up a notch?
These are the best selling bundles at Private Label, Private Label Wholesale (bundles are referred to as Premium), and for our 1,000's of dropship hair clients on the Dropship Bundles platform.
The main difference between the Brazilian Hair and Malaysian hair is the longer hair strands within the bundles. Also, when the hair is examined the better batches are generally used for the Brazilian Hair. This is something most people would not recognize.
If you are looking for great quality hair extensions for the price then Brazilian Hair is it!
The Vietnamese hair weave is just stunning. We would not consider it anything between a 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, or higher. We just call it "Raw Hair" that is sourced from the countryside of Vietnam.
The hair is THICK. Probably the thickest hair we have ever sold. The texture is not silky smooth like the Brazilian but a little course. A perfect match for a woman that wears sew-in extensions.
This weave is some of the best quality hair you will ever find. You will not find many sellers of Vietnamese hair as it is not common in the marketplace. It is not as easy to get and takes longer to supply than other hair types.
Pro Tip: The Raw Vietnamese & Indian Hair on Private Label is actually sourced from those countries.
We do our best to stay stocked with Vietnamese hair despite is scarcity. You could consider this hair extension grade a 12A or whatever the current top number of hair extension is by the time you read this. Really, it's raw hair and the best!
The wavy & curly Indian hair textures are some of the most sought after in the industry.
We are talking beautiful and long-lasting hair extensions.
The popularity of Indian hair has stayed consistent over the past ten years. Because it is less abundant to find the prices for true raw Indian hair that has been donated at temples will generally be more expensive.
Private Label's Indian hair is 100% with no mixing of processed hair. You may find "cheap" Indian hair, but it will not match the quality of the bundles we provide our clients. It has been our goal to offer the best possible raw Indian hair that is available from India.
Will there ever be a universal hair extension grading system? We don't think so anytime soon.
The hair extension market is still like the wild west when it comes to marketing terms and ways to grade hair.
The idea of having a 5A or 6A hair quality was great until the marketing concept of adding additional A's to the numbers to appear higher quality.
Are 10A hair extensions better than 8A hair extensions?
It's a tough call because technically, you could call your hair any "grade" you want.
Our staff tends to agree the best hair extensions are the RAW hair. Our clients love our Raw Vietnamese & Indian hair. The Raw Hair is in its natural state, it can be a little more to deal with because it will act just like the hair on your head.
Everyone is going to have a different opinion on the hair extensions they buy. Your view of what's the best weave will be different than the person next to you. The goal is to find great hair at an affordable price. If it's labeled 7A, 8A, 9A, or even 10A it really doesn't matter!
Is it even possible?
Technically no.
Selling your clients virgin hair that matches their needs will be fundamental. Understand the capabilities of natural hair will be crucial to your success. We don't think there is anything wrong with calling your hair a specific grade but make sure you can back it up.
To be competitive, you have to focus on selling the best hair extensions possible for an affordable price. You don't have to go too cheap as someone might not think your hair is of quality.
Nobody markets "5A Hair" anymore. Everything seems to be "6A" and above. Do some research, and you will probably find 11A and 12A hair available. Just remember, the 8A hair is no better than the 9A hair of today. There have not been any significant advancements in the wefting, shackling, or manufacturing of human hair in some years.
The grading system, which uses terms like 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9A, 10A, etc., is meant to denote the quality of human hair extensions.
The higher the grade, the higher the quality, indicating thicker ends, longer durability, and the hair being more unprocessed.
Facts: In theory the higher number should represent a better hair extension but without a real quality scale you can make up any number you want.
5A hair extensions are considered a lower quality compared to 10A.
10A extensions are of the highest quality, featuring full, thick ends, and are typically 100% virgin human hair with no chemical processing, offering the most natural look and longest durability.
Facts: Someone could tell you a bundle of hair is 10A but be thin, mixed with synthetic fibers, and less than 100 grams. The number grading system has no real value. You must learn how to determine quality hair bundles.
Higher grade hair extensions are generally better in terms of quality, durability, and appearance.
They are less likely to tangle, have minimal shedding, and can handle heat and dyeing better. However, the best choice depends on your budget and needs.
Facts: Not always. The grading system doesn't have a standard.
Yes, higher grade hair extensions like 8A, 9A, and 10A are more suitable for dyeing and bleaching.
They can handle chemical processes better due to their high quality and resilience but always proceed with caution to avoid damaging the hair.
Facts: I have seen crappy 10A hair that can't be colored. What makes it 10A hair? The vendor puts a name on it, that's it!
High-grade hair extensions, such as 9A and 10A, can last up to a year or longer with proper care, including regular washing, conditioning, and minimal heat styling.
Facts: Higher quality hair will last longer. Don't rely on an A-grade to determine if the hair is of high quality.
The price differences reflect the quality, processing, and durability of the hair.
Higher grades are made from virgin hair that hasn't been chemically treated, making them more expensive but also more durable and natural-looking.
Facts: Always focus on buying the best hair bundles for your budget.
No, the grading system is not standardized and can vary between manufacturers and suppliers. It's important to research and trust your supplier to ensure you're getting the quality you pay for.
Facts: This one is the truth!
Consider your budget, how often you plan to use the extensions, and whether you intend to style or dye them. Higher grades are better for frequent use and styling, while lower grades might suffice for occasional wear or if budget is a constraint.
Facts: Always buy the best quality hair as it will last and save you money in the long run.
While higher grade hair extensions are more durable, they still require proper care to maintain their quality. This includes using sulfate-free shampoos, avoiding excessive heat styling, and gentle brushing to prevent tangling and shedding.
Facts: All human hair needs special care and treated like real hair.
Yes, higher grade hair extensions, especially grades like 9A and 10A, are often reusable. With proper care and maintenance, you can reinstall them multiple times, making them a cost-effective option in the long run.
Facts: Even decent quality hair can be re-used. Take care of the hair while you are wearing it and at night for long-term use.

]]>I started experimenting with wigs sometime between 2011 Blac Chyna and 2014 Kylie Jenner, no pun intended.
These two changed wigs like they changed outfits. They made each unit look like it was growing from their scalp.
However, when I received my first human hair wig, I realized that I did not have a "Tokyo Stylez" or any celebrity wig stylist to style my hair.
I had to figure out how to rock a wig without it looking “wiggy,” sliding back or lopsided on my own. I am bringing you these wig hacks listed below after years of trial and error, and I hope you can use a few to help you feel secure in the wig you’re in!
If your wig does not come with clips inside of it, be sure to have some bobby pins in the vicinity to add to the wig to secure it!
Wig clips are a better option but when you don't have that option, you can use bobby pins!
There have been a few times where I have encountered a unit with no type of clip or comb to secure my wig. To be honest, before I realized that I could use bobby pins I would get so nervous that the right gust of wind at the wrong time could blow my wig off of its rightful place, my head.
However, with bobby pins, you can pin the sides of your clipless unit down to your perimeter braid and rest assured that your wig is stable. Just take two to four bobby pins and pin both your braid and your wig cap together.
I typically do on above each ear and two at the nape of my neck for extra security; because the hair falls over the pins I do not worry too much about the pins showing and giving away my secret!
If you tend to put a lot of product in your hair or constantly run your fingers through your hair this could result in an oily wig.
No problem!
Outside of washing the wig, you can also eliminate an oily unit with baby powder! Shake a small amount of baby powder on to the roots and work it down through the wig with a wig brush, comb, or your fingers until you have dulled the shininess.
The powder will absorb the wig’s oil and leave your wig oil-free, keeping it secure!
It is a blessing to have thick and tamable edges! Quite frankly not all of us are that lucky to have them.
In fact, some may blame the friction of a wig rubbing against their hairline for the loss of their edges.
If you are protecting your edges under a wig, be sure to coat your edges with oil so that the friction does not rub them out.
If you are protecting your edges under that wig, you should try to customize yours until by creating baby hairs in the front.
Adding just a little can help the unit look more realistic when it is installed on your head.
Quick Tip: Protect your edges with the best edge control.
No one has a hairline that goes from forehead to scalp; the baby hairs add just enough hair to help with the transition from forehead to hairline then scalp. If the process of creating baby hair on your unit is a little too complicated for you, try to purchase a wig with pre-cut baby hair on the unit!
Wigs with this type of styling option provide realistic baby hair that you can gel down and emulate your favorite look!
A good rule of thumb to use when washing a wig is to grab it at the root of the hair.
While creating a fist, pull the soap and water to the tips of the unit, begin washing downward. Do not scrunch the wig when cleaning it because that can tangle the hair strands and leave knots in the unit.
For all of the ladies that may partake in wigs of the synthetic or human hair mix nature, Dawn soap or laundry detergent is a shampoo alternative to consider using when washing your wig!
Plastics and animal hair (wool) make up synthetic hair, and the cleanser works as a perfect cleaning and strengthening agent for the artificial fibers.
Truthfully, it works well with human hair wigs too, but harsh soaps can dry the human hair out so to air on the side of caution we are putting in this disclaimer.
You can also refresh your wig by placing it in a bath of heavily diluted fabric softener.
Yes, Fabric softener.
When drying the wig, you can hang it up on a hanger if you don’t have a wig head and let it air dry overnight. In the morning the wig should be dry enough for you to blow dry on low heat. After this, you can style your wig as desired.
I have two tips for those of you with wig cap trouble. Not all nudes were created equal, find your nude.
You should find a staple wig cap that you go to protect your hair. This cap should match the color of your scalp, and it should not be darker than your skin tone. If you cannot find your exact nude that is okay, go lighter!
(Looking for wig caps in Atlanta? Make sure you check out Private Label!)
Find a wig cap that is lighter than your scalp and darken it with concealer. Some say it is easier to darken a cap than it is to make a dark brown cap lighter.
For those of you who may have ordered a full lace wig with a lace color that does not match your skin tone, you can turn the wig inside out and brush a concealer that matches your skin tone throughout the wig.
This hack will reduce the time that you have to spend plucking and then fill your part with concealer when you apply the unit.
I mean, honestly, who has time to do that every morning?
Sleep with your wig on and a tight scarf to keep hairs in place overnight.
If your braids are chunky, you should also use this hack to flatten the bump that tends to form on the back of the head.
When combing the wig do not rake from the roots down!
Take a comb and starting from the bottom, (Hey Drake!), work your comb from the bottom up.
This way of combing will reduce hair loss in the unit.
Some of us cannot use Got2B Glue or Gorilla Snot. If you're one of those people, you can turn to a wig grip.
Different adhesives can cause reactions and agitate sensitive skin to the point of irritation. To prevent your wig from sliding back try a wig grip! You can find these adjustable velvet-like bands on Amazon or eBay. Place the wig grips around your head like a flat headband. This will make it easier to secure your wig tightly.
The wig band is a thin strap of fiber that can save your edges while keeping your wig in place. It also helps to lay and secure the lace of the wig if you are experiencing any rolls or bunching of your lace. The wig band is important because it will help your wig stay secure. A wig band will work alongside combs if necessary.
Word of advice: Purchase a light brown band so that the coloring blends in with the lace.
Have you ever walked up to someone and realized that they did not conceal the grid pattern on their frontal or closure?
A suitable way to hide the grid pattern without bleaching the knots would be to camouflage the lace with Scar Away!
Take a bandage from the silicone scar sheet and cut a small, thin, and long piece, to stick on to the portion of the lace that you are using as your part, sticky side up.
If your scalp is a little darker than the bandage, you can still use this method. Make sure to apply the concealer to the top of your part as well.
If you are trying to customize your closure wig and you over pluck the part, use waterproof mascara or eyeliner to fill in the bald spots.
We have all been there. You may have gotten a little too ambitious when plucking your frontal and pulled thirty-two hairs too many.
Not a big deal!
Your mascara brush is made for jobs like this and can fill in that hole in no time. Always remember to use a waterproof product. Your hands and any moisture in the air can rub or wash that color right out of the unit.
The wig game is a fierce one.
It seems like every day a new type of wig is coming out. Next thing you know the fad has changed and more styles are considered obsolete. Keeping up with these trends makes it harder to make sure that your wig looks on point and realistic.
Want to make wearing a wig easy? Try a Glueless Wig from Private Label. They are the easiest solution for wearing a wig and keeping it on.
Maybe the new wig you have is missing clips or you finished the last of your concealer?
These hacks will help you to slay another day. Or at least until you make it to your nearest beauty supply store.
Comment below to let us know some tips or tricks you use when wearing a wig!
]]>I have to be honest, I've always been interested in wearing wigs especially since making several custom units for my clients.
You have to admire how natural they appear once placed on the head. Now that wigs have become go-to for women I may have to step my game up and become a part of the trend.
We can all agree that every woman is different and while some prefer to wear their hair, others like the convenience of wearing a wig. Some like to wear their hair in a particular hairstyle while others want to keep them guessing by being versatile. Some are committed to being in the shop every two weeks while others save every coin.
These are just some of the reasons why women decide to become a part of the wig movement, and I'm here for all of it! So let's chat. Below are my reasons why I feel wigs are the best protective styles, but you may have some too.
Please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know why you are a wig lover!
I must agree.
Can you imagine waking up every morning applying heat to your hair?
Or not knowing what to do with your hair? It can ruin your day! For my wig lovers, their hair is braided, scalp treated and they can wear any wig they desire.
The best thing about it is if you want to use an adhesive, something simple like Got2B Glued you're able to apply and go in no time. If you prefer using tape, I would recommend bold hold lace tape. I've personally used this product on a couple of my clients, and they loved it.
Every month I would make an appointment for my client to come back so I can fix any issues with the frontal. Most importantly it's easy to remove by using 91 percent alcohol. Using a clean washcloth with alcohol place in the areas where the tape is.
One tip that I would say is to make sure you don't pull the lace because you don't want your hairline to become damaged.
Have you ever woken up feeling like a different person?
Felt like your name should be something else? Well, you can name that wig and become that person!
Monday through Thursday you may want to wear something simple but makes a statement. Fridays are casual so a curly unit will do the job. For the weekend bring out the colors.
Honestly, wigs bring out the personality, and people will start noticing you because you have different looks every day!
I have to admit I love my flat irons.
I may have about 25 in my closet in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Although I'm a relaxed beauty (I've been transitioning to become a natural beauty for two years) I'm not sure if I'm strong enough to walk away.
However, if you're tempted to add heat to the hair, you can always use a heat protectant. It's important that we keep our natural tresses healthy because there may be times when we want to wear it out.
I need to take my advice, stay away from heat because it doesn't do a body good LOL.
I live to do NOTHING to my hair.
Do you feel the same way?
I'm sure you do. Listen, start the morning off right by blasting your music while picking out the outfit of the day, eating breakfast and applying your makeup. Every woman dreams. I consider curly hair as less stressful because it's a wet, shake and go texture. There are so many different hair textures when it comes to curly hair.
Some people aren't sure what their hair patterns are so as an example I will use pictures from the Private Labels Hair website so you can determine if your Type 2 wavy hair, type 3 curly hair or type 4 coily hair.
From the extensions that I've mentioned and the pictures that I've provided, type 2 is wavy hair.
When purchasing extensions if your hair has a slight wave I would recommend the loose wave extensions. If your texture is more of a wave which is slightly tighter than a loose curl I would suggest the body wave or the Vietnamese natural wave hair extensions. If your texture has more of a curl, then I would recommend the curly raw Indian hair.
Can the Private Labels hair extensions be colored, straightened and go back to its natural curl? YES!
How do I know because I've used the extensions on several clients and I haven't received a bad review yet. Are you worried about blending?
You shouldn't because if you purchased the extensions that are the same or similar to your hair pattern the blending should fall right into place as soon as you begin to style.
Let's look at the pictures provided for type 3 hair patterns. I listed the hair extensions that I recommend for this hair type the word "wave" can be a bit deceiving.
Make sure you look at the pictures that I provided so you can see why I choose that texture for this hair type. A lot of clients asked me if they could straighten that hair and the answer is yes. I had a client who tried it, and I was nervous that they hair wouldn't go back to its pattern, but it did.
As always you can this hair can be colored and you can have this hair for more than a year with proper care.
Let's look at the pictures I provided for type 4 pattern.
As I mentioned in the last paragraph, I'm giving you an idea of what I think may blend well with this texture. For the Brazilian kinky curly hair extensions, let's think out of the box for a moment.
Type 4 pattern is more of having an afro with tiny curls. Using the Brazilian Kinky Curly extensions can be used for a sew-in or just adding a few pieces as long as you unwinding the curl.
By doing so, you will be able to blend your natural hair with the extensions if you decide to leave any hair out. For the natural beauties who's hair is longer the Brazilian kinky straight is the way to go. While being a vendor at an event a lot of women loved the texture and the fact that the hair wasn't shiny and bone straight. They all wanted the same thing as something that would match their texture.
So if you are a natural beauty with thick long tresses with minimum curl the Brazilian Kinky straight is the way to go.
I have two clients who are dealing with hair loss.
I can remember the pain in there voice explaining how embarrassed they are or depressed. As a stylist, I have to make sure my clients are confident no matter what their issues are.
It's my responsibility to provide different options and make sure they are comfortable with the decision. Depending on how severe the hair loss is some can cut there hair down, get a quick weave or get a wig.
Women are rocking the low haircuts these days honey, and they don't have a care in the world as to what anyone has to say about it. Owning your decision shows that you have confidence. Sometimes we like to take it up a notch and add some color but if your taking medication, please consult with your doctor.
Allow the doctor to read the ingredients in the hair color to make sure it won't interfere with the color your considering. Last but not least the infamous quick weave. Youtube is where all the action goes down if you're doing this style.
From the stocking cap to scalp treatment Youtube provides all the information needed to make the client feel FAB once her hair is complete.
Don't forget about trying out a glueless wig!
We love the new glueless wig options that make wearing a wig easy. Their pop on and pop off functions make this one of the best protective style choices.
Our glueless wigs come with bleached knots, glueless band, pre-cut lace, and a great style. You can't lose with a glueless wig!
Saving a coin makes the day better. Wigs can be expensive.
A custom unit using a frontal, closure or a 360 can cost you 300 dollars and up. However, if the stylist who's making the wig is using good hair and your taking care of the wig you can have it for over a year.
The wigs at the beauty supply store are a lot cheaper because they use synthetic hair, synthetic and human hair mixed and 100% human hair.
Don't get me wrong they have served a purpose, but are you saving?
Leave the sew-ins and the quick weaves alone and invest in quality.
If I weren't rocking the Halle Berry, I would probably want a sew-in or a quick weave, but it's important that we allow the scalp and the hair to breath once in a while.
Wash and condition your hair every two weeks. Also, make sure you do a treatment then go back to the wigs.
If you are a person that never wore a wig but considered it I say just do it!
Go to your local beauty supply store and try on every single wig in the store. Then purchase a wig from Private Label because that's where the quality hair is. Ask questions, try colors, live a little.
You never know, you may become a wig master once you get the hang of it.
]]>Certain words do not go together. Like, soggy and cereal or melted and ice cream. You may be thinking that words like wax and hair belong in this group of oxymorons but much to our surprise, this product is sweeping through the hair care industry and taking it by storm!
Until recently, hair wax's reputation was primarily for pixie cuts and men's styling.
Now, you can find a hair wax stick for women's styling in hair care lines such as Redken, Paul Mitchell, and Kenra.
It doesn't matter if you are rocking a TWA or 28" of Wavy Raw Indian Hair from Private Label, anyone can benefit from using hair wax to maintain their style.
When you hear the word wax, you may be thinking about a stubborn-sticky substance used for hair removal.
Or you're thinking of a scented wax melt that fills your home with fragrance. Either way, it might be difficult to understand why anyone would want to put wax in their hair.
Let me break it down: Hair wax is a versatile styling product that gives your style hold without compromising movement. Hair waxes have multiple benefits to your hair's health and your styling needs.
There are many products on the market that mold and hold your hairstyle, but hair wax is the most versatile of them all.
Unlike hair spray, hair wax is suitable for both wet and dry hair and, when used correctly, does not leave a sticky residue on your hair or hands. Much like hair gels; hair waxes come in a variety of holds but never compromise body and flexibility.
You may be surprised to learn that many of the styles we see on the red carpet are styles done with hair wax.
Hair waxes are ideal for long-term hold because the hair like with a hairspray does not quickly absorb the product.
When I first learned about hair wax, I never thought about using the product on long hair.
After a little research, I discovered that many of the long sleek looks that I love are styles that used hair wax. Styles like Khloe Kardashian and Zendaya are known for wearing a middle part with long straight hair hanging on both sides.
The issue with wearing long hair is that over time, as gravity takes its toll, the hair loses its style. Because hair wax sits on top of the hair shaft, it works as a barrier that holds its form for hours – or even days! What key to getting this super smooth look is to use hair wax to eliminate flyaways.
Step 1: Start with a hair wax that offers shine. Try Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Shine Pomade. Put a nickel-sized amount in your hand and rub it together until the wax begins to liquify.
Step 2: Start at the roots of your hair and rub the wax halfway down the hair shaft.
Tip: Set your style by loosely wrapping a silk or satin scarf around your head for five minutes. Make sure that you do not wrap it too tight or you will end up with creases in your hair.
Once you remove the wrap, your flyaway hairs will lay down against your head leaving it shiny and uninformed.
A slicked-back ponytail is a style that effortlessly transitions from spinning class to the red carpet. Stars like Gabrielle Union and Beyoncé know how to rock a tight ponytail. Unlike the messy bun, a slicked-back ponytail is all about sophistication.
When you are styling your ponytail, make sure that all your hair is going in the same direction. Aveda Light Elements Defining Whip has a medium hold that won't build up on your hair, but just enough structure to provide the put-together look you desire.
Tip: Spice up your style by laying your edges. Apply a small amount of Private Label Edge Control to your edges. Use a soft boar bristle brush or the tail end of a fine-toothed comb to work the product into your edges to help keep your hair looking neat all night.
Hair wax is not only good for straight styles, but it also works great on curly styles as well! Celebs like Chrissy Teigen and Zoe Saldana are notorious for slaying loose beachy waves.
The duality between a hair waxes hold and its flexibility makes it the perfect product for tousled, casual styles. Use hair wax to perfect your messy-haired look with these simple steps:
Step 1: After curling your hair, scoop a small amount of wax onto your fingertips. Try Redken Water Wax 03 Texturizing Pomade. The water-based formula does not leave any residue, and the product is flexible to wear in your hair for days without drying your hair out or making your hair sticky.
Step 2: Twist the ends of your hair around your fingers in the direction of your curl.
Step 3: Take the remaining wax and tousle your roots to add volume and texture throughout your style.
Tip: Add volume to your hair by using a touch of hair wax on your roots. Then, use a dryer with a diffuser attachment to set it.
It's pretty apparent that hair wax is a jack of all trades. The conditioning elements of hair wax make it an excellent product for kinky hair textures. Unlike gels, hair wax does not leave the hair hard, so it's ideal for those who wish to style and restyle their hair without shampooing out the hardness.
Hair waxes are perfect for styling natural hair into styles like kinky puffs or protective buns and, it can also be used to tame those stray hairs on braids keeping them looking neat and fresh for weeks.
Follow these simple steps to refresh your braids after a wash:
Step 1: Towel dry your braids by leaning to one side and allowing your braids to hang downward.
Step 2: Wrap the towel around your braids and gently squeeze any excess water out.
Step 3: Once you have dried your braids to the point where they are no longer dripping water, rub together a generous amount of hair wax in your hands.
Step 4: In a downward motion, apply the wax down the strand of each braid, lightly coating them. Make sure you do not use too much wax.
Tip: Use a little extra wax on the ends of your braids to seal them from unraveling.
You may still be a little unsure about exploring the world of hair waxes but write off this product just yet! Hair waxes provide more than hold to your style.
Many also have conditioning properties, add volume, and offer tons of shine. With so many benefits in one product, it's worth giving it a shot!

]]>Wigs have become a lasting staple in the hair business.
With many hair trends arising sometimes, it can be so hard to keep up, yet wigs have been around ever since the ancient days of Pharaoh.
In our modern world, they were once seen by the millennial generation as something worn by the elder or balding. Now don’t get me wrong wigs have always been a go-to item for Halloween costumes but they were not seen by the young as suitable for everyday hair wear.
Growing up seeing many older women wearing wigs I would never have thought that I would start wearing wigs as well, especially in my twenties.
I never thought about wearing them, especially on a daily basis due to fear that it would fall off my head. Then I decided I really wanted to learn how to make a wig.
Over the years I began wearing wigs for convenience due to a hectic schedule.
By learning more about hair a lot of the myths that I held in my mind about wigs were debunked.
Nowadays even young teens and high school students are wearing wigs.
They have become the most efficient way to consistently switch up your hair without having to cut or color it. In comparison to weaves, wigs tend to need minimal styling and don’t require a long time to install and uninstall.
I can honestly say that wigs maybe one of the most convenient hair methods ever known to man.
Wigs give you easy access to your scalp allowing you to condition, treat, and even wash your hair. What makes wigs even more convenient is that you can make one from the convenience of your own home.
In this blog post, we're going to go through the process of making a wig and the right wig making supplies that you'll need.
To first understand how to make wigs one must learn about the various types of wigs and their differences as well as pros.
There are five main types of wigs are lace frontal, 360 lace frontal, closure, partial/half, and full regular.
Let us go into detail about each:
The popularity of "Lace Frontals" has grown significantly in the past year. This goes the same for using them in creating wigs.
Lace frontal wigs give the appearance of a natural hairline. Ladies, this hair can blow in the wind!
There are usually more options with the way you can part your hair as well.
A 360 lace frontal wig is very similar to a lace front in that they both have lace yet a 360 lace frontal has lace all over the perimeter (360 degrees) and sometimes even the center.
This creates a natural hairline look all around the perimeter of your head allowing you to be able to wear your hair in a ponytail.
Ready to fall in love with wigs?
In 2024, glueless wigs have soared in popularity. This is due to the easy of popping them on and off while still having a realistic look.
Private Label has worked to make the most realistic looking glueless wigs on the market with bleached knots, glueless band, pre-cut HD lace, and professional color.
This is a wig made with a closure.
A closure is a small piece of hair with a part that is lace or silk-based making it very smooth allowing the wig to lay flat on your hair.
A partial or half wig allows you to leave some of your hair out.
This is the most standard type of wig.
This wig is one of the easiest to find and wear. It also comes in the most variety of styles and colors.
By knowing the differences amongst these types of wigs, you can get a better idea of how to make a wig which is best for you.
Another important factor to take into consideration when making one is the type of hair extensions to use. Depending on the kind of hair you chose the price of making your wig will significantly vary.
Synthetic hair is the cheapest type of hair and comes in potent colors. The downside of synthetic hair is that it usually lasts for a few months.
Human hair is the next expensive, and it is more durable than synthetic hair.
Virgin hair is the most durable of all hair. Unlike synthetic hair and human hair, both heat and color can be applied with no damage. Virgin hair can also be reused for years making it more expensive due to the quality.
I highly recommend a virgin if you want to achieve an everlasting wig.
Wig caps are used to ensure your natural hair lays completely flat while wearing your wig. This gives a more realistic look to wearing a wig versus it looking like a hat sitting atop your head.
Wig caps offer great protection for your hair and scalp while preventing your wig from slipping off. Making your own wig cap allows for more flexibility and proper custom fitting to your head size. I'd like to share with you three simple steps on how to make a wig cap on your own using stockings.
Using a nylon stocking, you will pull it over the crown of your head until the opening lands directly at your hairline edge.
You will then take the unsecured portion of the stocking and grasp it one inch away from your scalp. Doing this will make sure the wig cap is not too tight or uncomfortable.
Use your other hand to take the end of the stocking to create a loop by wrapping it around the one inch away from a portion.
Fold it through the loop and pull both ends tightly in opposite directions to create a knot. Take a pair of scissors to cut the remaining stocking above the knot.
Making your own wig can seem intimidating, difficult, time-consuming, and tiring. Therefore, most individuals trust a professional to create one or they just do a retail purchase of a desirable unit.
However, with the right tools and mindset, creating your own wig is effortless. A do it yourself wig has many beneficial factors that will make you think twice about going to a professional or even purchasing an already made unit offline. You have the convenience of saving money, the flexibility of being on your own time schedule, and more.
You can do this! Remember, your first time making a wig is probably going to be a learning process that everyone goes through. Not even the best stylists didn't learn how to make a wig on their first try and create something that is going to go viral. It's a process so let's get started.
Now that you know the types of wigs and types of hair let us talk about the tools you will need to make a full regular wig. As discussed earlier, having the proper tools for making a wig will set you up for success. This is the most standard wig, and the construction methods of this type of wig serve as the primary method for most.
You will need the following:
You can purchase many of these tools at your local beauty supply store. Depending on the type of wig you chose to make you may need to buy lace frontal glue to secure the hairline of your wig down.
Mount your wig head on a wig stand or set it down on a chair or table with tape.
Tip: You want your wig head to be stable while you are making your wig for easier construction.
Measure and cut your extensions to fit the circumference of the wig cap while securing them down from back to front.
As you get midway through your cap, start laying the tracks down in a more U-shape pattern.
You can secure your hair extensions down by using needle & thread, hair glue & blow dryer or hot glue gun & glue sticks.
Tip: Needle and thread is the most secure method yet takes the longest to install. Hair glue and hot glue are both fast, yet hot glue is a bit more durable yet must be done with caution because the glue is hot.
If you are creating a wig with a closure or a lace frontal you should lay that piece down first and then add the remaining extensions.
This will help you see how much hair you need and allow you to chose where you want the closure or frontal to lay on your head.
Cover the hair cap with track extensions while being cognizant of the way you would like your frontal part to lay.
Add a wig band and wig combs to the inside of your wig to add security to your wig when wearing it.
Tip: Remove any lace if you are creating a frontal wig.
Once your full wig is done, you can choose to cut the front of your wig into blunt bangs, a side part, middle part or if you select curly hair you can rock it as a fro.
Tip: If you would like to color your hair I highly recommend doing that before constructing your wig.
Wig accessories are necessary for the care of your new wig.
Properly caring for your wig, as we discuss in more detail here, is essential to the life of it and treating it as you would your natural hair. Check out a few of these items you can include in your wig regimen to make your wig life effortless!
Wig stands are essential to not only maintain your new wig for storing but also assists in making the styling process easier.
Wig stands also help your wig dry properly after a thorough shampoo. Wig heads are great for holding the wig in shape to ensure it conforms to your head properly.
Now although wigs seem like they can be intimidating we just showed you that they are not that hard to make at all.
Making a wig for the first time will probably be your worst. That's OK!
It still might turn out great.
The key is to understand this and continue to improve your wig making skills and having the best wig making supplies. It takes time to be a pro like The Hair Diagram or other stylists that have been doing this for years.

]]>Straight hair extensions are by far one of the best looks you can have because of how chic it looks.
Who doesn't want an easy hairstyle that always looks great? Right!
You can wear straight extensions for any occasion and never go wrong.
The only downfall to them is that after a while it begins to look dry and stale looking.
Hair extensions cost far too much to have them not looking their best. There’s also a boatload of different products that can be applied to help with the maintenance if you need it.
Beware you’re using the right products. Many times the products we use are harmful to the extensions so you must be careful and make sure you’re only buying what’s needed and remember less is more when it comes to hair extensions.
Continue reading below to find out the best products for straight hair extensions!
If you have grey straight hair extensions, this product is amazing.
It’s normally for people who have real grey hair but works on extensions too. It keeps the hair popping and shining. It also does a great job of protecting the color and making sure it doesn’t fade.
When it comes to straight hair, it’s really easy to notice the dirt and film, so this shampoo helps with brings the shine back.
It’s best to remember the importance of caring for your extensions as you would with your real hair. When it comes to washing extensions, some people buy any shampoo because they think it doesn’t matter; but it does.
The Hask Mint Almond Oil Shampoo is a great nourishing shampoo. It soaks the hair extensions and cleanses it. It adds a nice shine to it as well.
After washing with this product, your extensions should look as fresh as it did when you first purchased them.
Both of these products do a great job of absorbing all the dirt and germs that get collected in your straight extensions. When you’re in between washes and need to refresh your extensions, this will be the product you'll need.
The dry time is fast, and it also leaves your straight hair looking silky all day long. You no longer have to wait until wash day to have soft, clean hair!
The entire OGX line is great for straight extension hair. It does a great job of maintaining the quality of the hair. It’s best not to use harsh products on your extensions, and this coconut milk shampoo line is natural and lite.
So this product is adding great benefits to your extensions instead of making them worse.
This conditioner is one of the best out!
A quick tip for this product is to put on as much as possible and work it through the hair strands. This conditioner will leave your straight hair extensions super moisturized.
You could also leave it in for about an hour or even longer, to maximize the shine and moisture.
This lightweight conditioner does wonders for straight hair extensions.
Often, extension hair can become stiff and dry looking, and this product will reverse that issue. It will transform the extensions back to its original state. The Black Vanilla Conditioner can also be used as a leave-in product as well.
You could always apply the product throughout the hair and leave on overnight while it dries and then styles as needed.
Just like the shampoo that I mentioned earlier, this main product's purpose is to maintain grey hair color, even in straight hair extensions. While the shampoo is cleansing the hair, the conditioner is locking in all those benefits from it.
Gray hair can sometimes fade over time, but with this conditioner, it will refresh the color for you while leaving the hair soft and shiny.
This conditioner is one that is great for your straight hair and also on the inexpensive side.
You will get great results with this product. It smells good, its lightweight and will keep your straight hair silky. This conditioner also comes in a range of other different types of conditioners.

Not all moose products are known as the last styling options!
This product is great when you’re blow-drying your hair extensions.
The heat allows the Aphogeee Style Wrap Moose to restore the hair shiny and keep the straightness.
We all know that Crème of Nature argon oil is one of the best products when it comes to smelling good!
It not only smells good but just a little of this product goes a long way. Straight hair has to look a certain way for it to sleek and fresh; this product will help with that.
It provides long-lasting hold and loads of shine from the argon oil, which will be sure to have your extensions thanking you later!

One major flaw of straight hair is the possibility of frizz, which is never a good thing!
This product will be sure to keep you covered even on the dreariest day! It will bring the movement and shine back into your straight hair.
Okay, so once you have washed, conditioned and added your moose to your straight, it’s only right that you seal all that goodness with an oil. The Alma Legend Polish Spray is one to have in your product collection.
It leaves hair shiny and tames fly aways! There’s nothing worse than beautiful straight hair that has fly a-ways with it. This product will end that, leaving your extensions to be flawless.
Since it comes in a spray bottle, you’ll be able to apply it easily to the hair.
We all love the Jane Carter hairline but also know the prices can be a little steep. But if you’re able to dig a little deep, this product won’t disappoint.
The nourish and shine line has a super thick consistency which means a little goes a long way here. Grab a little for your hands, rub together and smooth on to the hair strands.
Within seconds, you will have shiny, flourishing extensions along with a lite smell good scent.
There’s only one thing better than oil, and that’s a serum. Serums are great because they're a little bit thinner than oil but have loads of benefits.
The OGX nourishing coconut milk serum will be sure to hydrate your straight extensions allowing them to look its best.
This serum is simple but powerful and also inexpensive!
Because who said hair extensions couldn’t take a DIY product?
This DIY product is sure to leave your straight hair feeling and looking its best. Coconut oil has amazing benefits, and it’s great for hair extensions.
All you do is apply the coconut oil all throughout the hair, cover with a plastic bag and sit under a hooded dryer for about 10 minutes and then brush out. Your hair will be soft, shiny and detangled with no issues.
Well, you may be the type who wants to skip all the moose’s and creams and stick to gel when it comes to maintaining your straightness; and that’s fine!
This Miss Jessie Multi Culture Gel is what you need to have full stock in your hair closet.
Sometimes gels can be known to weigh the hair down and add a little dry crunch, but this product has none of that. Miss Jessie Multi Culture Gel is lightweight and will provide softness throughout the hair strands.
This gel will be sure to maintain the straightness within your extensions.
As I mentioned earlier, straight hair is one of the best-looking styles. It gives off super chic and sleek fun vibes.
Above all else, straight hair extensions are simple. Simple means that you don’t have to do much to care for it but when you do you want to make sure the products are right.
I believe the above hair care products listed above are what every girl needs when maintaining their straight hair. It can be very easy for hair to lose its shape, shine and bounce and with these products, you’ll be sure to regain all of that and more!
Have you used any of these hair products before?
If not, tell me below what products you use to maintain your straight hair extensions!
]]>Is Lace Tint the key to a flawless install?
Here in Atlanta, there are many options for Lace Tints. Ranging from Sprays to Mousse, it can be difficult to be confident in deciding which to use. While they all have the same purpose, you may still ask yourself “Which one is the BEST choice?”
At Private Label, we are here to assist you in achieving that “scalp” look with our Lace Tint options!
While makeup has traditionally been used for tinting lace in wig installation, Lace Tint emerges as the superior choice for achieving flawless results. With its precision, longevity, and seamless blending capabilities, Lace Tint sets a new standard for lace customization in the hairstyling industry.
Unlike makeup, which can be prone to an uneven application, Lace Tint provides a smooth and uniform finish that seamlessly blends with the wearer's scalp tone. The liquid formula of Lace Tint allows for precise application, ensuring that every inch of the lace is evenly tinted for a natural look.
The lightweight formula of Lace Tint allows the scalp to breathe, preventing discomfort or irritation often associated with heavy makeup application. The overuse of makeup during the lace application process, can result in a failed install. This is because the formulation of makeup, whether a concealer or foundation, can be extremely heavy and it doesn’t always work well with Lace Glue.
Say goodbye to those messy installs and say hello to a seamless install with a scalp like finish!
At Private Label in Atlanta, we believe beauty lies in the details. We strive to be your one stop shop Beauty Supply in Atlanta! Whether coming to purchase one of our HD Lace Front Wigs or a 2x6 Transparent Closure, our Lace Tints are essential for a flawless hairline!
Our Lace Tint Spray is available in four different shades ranging from Light Warm Brown to Dark Brown opposed to the Lace Tint Mousse being available in three shades; Light Brown, Medium Brown & Dark Brown.
Both products come in sizes 100ml which is convenient for travel! Perfect for any carry on bag or a stylist travel kit. These lace tints are highly pigmented which will allow you to use less product per install. Coverage is preference and shade matching is key when it comes to getting that ‘scalp’ look. ]]>Cute, simple and classy!
Trust me, when I say you’re going to fall in love with this wig! Let’s not prolong and get right into it!
So here’s a random scenario: Let’s just say it’s been a long and stressful week. You've been battling the flu, trying to get better, keep up with the kids' homework and extracurricular activities on top of cooking and cleaning and much more! You finally start to feel a little bit better and work up the strength to get back to work in the morning
but WAIT…
you haven’t done a single thing to your head nor do you feel like doing anything to it, you’ve been so drained. So what do you do? I’ll tell you exactly what you’re going to do. You’re going to put on a headband wig and keep it moving honey!
If you don’t have one, you need to head on over to Private Label Atlanta right now and invest in one. Seriously, you’ll thank me later!
Headband wigs come in the clutch when you’re having a lazy day but still need to look presentable.
No more bad hair days.. EVER!
Wearing your headband wig is super easy! We’re going to walk you through it step by step, so don’t worry! We’ll hold your hand!
And there you have it! A quick and easy way to wear a headband wig. Convenient, right?!
Heck yeah! Headband wigs are one of the best protective styles on the market! Since you are able to take the wig on and off as you please, it makes it 10x easier to keep up with the maintenance of your natural hair.
You are able to grease and oil your scalp daily, itch your hair if you need to and give those edges a break! Minimum to no heat is required which is a bonus to prevent heat damage. It’s an all around 10 out of 10 if you ask me!
Headband wigs also cover your natural hairline and don't require the use of glues, tapes, or other adhesives, which can be damaging to the hair over time if not used properly.
Headband wigs are also gentle on your hair because they don't require the same level of manipulation or styling as other types of wigs. They can be a great option for giving your natural hair a break from heat styling or chemical treatments while still allowing you to switch up your look easily!
With proper care and maintenance your headband wig can last well over a year and even more! Now, if you’re one of the ones that come home from work and just sling your wig across the house and don’t look back, don’t expect your wigs to last forever. Just being completely honest, if you treat your wigs like garbage, you’re going to get garbage results. The better you treat your wig, the better it will treat you! I always say take care of your wigs like you would for your natural hair. Doing this, your wigs will last you a very long time.
If you’re looking for the best headband wigs, check out Private Label Atlanta where you can get different textures and lengths. Our Atlanta hair store offers textures like deep wave, body wave and silky straight. The best thing about Private Label’s headband wigs is that they are 100% human hair, can be dyed, curled, straightened and much more! You won’t be disappointed! The wigs come in 150 density, which is nice and full but not too thick, giving you a perfect glam and go look!
Whether you’re looking for something short or want to go long, Private Label has you covered. If you’re ever in the city or close by the Edgewood, Midtown or Kirkwood area, come on by! You’re in great hands here! Remember, we’re your one stop shop for all things hair and beauty related!

Whatever type of business you operate, it is important that you take adequate steps to market yourself properly.
Marketing can be described as any act which is designed to promote your brand to potential clients. The best types of marketing are those which are low cost but high impact.
However, it is important to do a cost-benefit analysis before you embark on any new marketing strategy. Spending more on a marketing strategy that you are unable to recuperate could cause serious financial issues for your business.
Marketing strategies which work for one hair extension company may not necessarily work for every single company. Before you commit to any expensive marketing choices think about all of the ways that your business works.
Are you a company that is trying to sell a range of different hair extensions? If so, there are a number of different marking strategies which might work for you.
Consider the nature of your business to assess whether each one might work for you or not. For example, some may work best if you just sell hair extensions. Others may be better if you offer other beauty services as well.
If you have any concerns about trying these marketing strategies out for yourself. You may actually be able to save money by hiring a professional instead of trying to do your own marketing.
This is because a professional will be able to carry out your marketing strategies in a fast and efficient fashion. They will be able to use your resources in the most appropriate way possible.
Competitions are a great way of increasing brand awareness because competitions will create a buzz around your brand.
Arrange competitions that are centered around your brand. The prize that you offer could include extensions but do not have to be limited to them.
For example, if you offered a full makeover with a professional stylist as your prize, then you can make your hair extensions part of the prize. If your prize is really good, then people are likely to talk about it with their friends and family.
You could have a competition with hairstylists to competing to make the best glueless wigs or colored hair.
You can even include additional social media aspects into your competitions. You can do this by giving people additional entries if they share the contest on social media.
There are lots of different types of competitions that you could organize. You can do competitions where entrants have to answer a question about your brand or where they have to send in pictures of themselves using your product.
Getting a celebrity endorsement can be a huge marketing opportunity for your brand. A celebrity can be expensive, yet worth it if you want your product to be seen by many people.
Even if you do not have access to a national celebrity, working with a local celebrity or socialite can be effective. If your brand is only a locally based one, then it may be best to work with someone who is locally famous.
Working with someone local will allow you have more control over your targeting. Some celebrities will be happy to work with you for "free" if they like your products.
Celebrities may be willing to endorse if you provide them with the products. You may want to reach out to them before sending more expensive raw hair bundles with an HD Lace Closure to make sure they are accepting products.
If your hair extensions are quality, then people may endorse it without you even having to ask them to do so.
Reaching out to "YouTube" celebrities or those with a huge following can also be a great marketing play.
Reach out to someone with a following greater than 50,000 subscribers and see if they will talk about your hair extensions if you send them some samples.
YouTube celebs generally have a "cult-like" following and if they love your extensions then you could see a dramatic increase in sales.
Invest in a booth at a wedding fair if you want to promote your business.
A lot of brides-to-be want a drastic change for their wedding day. Brides want a little bit of celebrity glamor for their wedding party.
Seeing a hair brand at a wedding fair will encourage them to think if extensions are the right choice for them.
Being able to see and touch your hair extensions at your booth will also give them the opportunity to feel how realistic they can be. If you do have a booth at a wedding fair, you can take details from brides who show an interest in your product and you can make sure that you offer them a discount if they choose to use you for their big day.
Many brides who are considering extensions for their big day will actually end up using your products one extra time before the wedding, as they will want to see the effects before they commit to extensions for their wedding hair. If possible, try a local event first.
You will often find the Private Label team at the Bronner Bros International Beauty Show to meet new clients. You can too!
Traveling to different cities can incur any extra costs.
Encourage people to choose lace front wigs for other special events by running seasonal promotions. Hair extensions are a particularly popular choice for parties or glamorous events. Running a "Christmas special" could help you to get your brand name out there.
This will encourage people to try your hair extensions during the annual Christmas party season.
Around Valentine's Day is also another good time to offer special deals on your extensions.
Valentine's Day is one of the most popular date nights of the year. Everyone wants to make sure that they are looking their best for a date with their partner. In the Summer you could offer special deals on certain "beach-style" hair extensions.
Depending on what type of hair extension that you sell, you may also be able to work in promotions for other seasonal holidays.
For example, if you sold unusual colored hair extensions as well as natural colored ones, then you could create a promo where there was money off of green extensions on St Patrick's Day or orange and black extensions for Halloween. A few other times of the year to consider is "Prom Season" and "Tax Season."
Both of these are huge opportunities for your hair extension business!
The only real limits as to the seasonal promotions that you can create are the boundaries of your imagination.
Hair extensions are rarely taken on their own. People normally want hair extensions to enhance their overall look. They will team their extensions with stunning make-up and fashionable clothes.
If your business specializes in extensions, you can still "market" the complete look. You can team up with other local (or web-based) businesses to do so.
Because your companies will not be in direct competition with one another, you can promote each other without the risk that your clients will only use their services instead.
You can arrange with a make-up salon that they will promote your hair extensions in their salon if you suggest their salon to your clients. When you build links with other businesses you can also share marketing and advertising costs.
You can create a three-way campaign featuring your hair extensions, make-up from a particular salon and styling by a local clothing provider.
Creating a campaign like this could cut your costs by over 50%!
Social media marketing is one of the most effective types of marketing available if used properly. Sites like Facebook and Twitter can allow you to get your message out to people for next to no cost.
If you create your own social media campaigns then the only cost is the time you spend running social media pages.
You can also create sponsored content or pay a small amount of money to make sure that more people see what you post.
For example, most Facebook business user posts will only appear on about one-third of their follower's pages. Business pages can pay to promote content so that it will be promoted on Instagram.
Your followers can also 'like', 'share' and 'retweet' your content, which will then allow a lot of their "followers' to see your content too. This is one of the best things about using social media to market your hair extension business.
If you create the right content, it could go viral, which means thousands of people might get to see it.
It is worth paying to have professional photographs taken of your products so that you can use them to promote your hair extensions. Although it might be less expensive to try to take your own photos, it is likely that the results will not be as good.
Professional photographers will have a better understanding of the angles, lighting, and techniques that are required to produce results that will accurately convey all of the positive things about your hair extensions.
They will help you to create wonderful product images that will help you sell products. It is worth remembering that a good picture is worth a thousand words.
For most people who are browsing the internet for something to buy, the image that they are presented with is one of the most important factors. Bad pictures can lose you sales.
If you have a series of beautiful professional pictures, you can also create an Instagram or a Pinterest account. Both of these social media sites rely on visual media, so having appealing photos is essential if you want to succeed when you are using them.
Free consultations are an excellent choice for any company that is working within the beauty industry.
Offering free consultations can help get people in your doors, and will help you to build a rapport with potential clients.
During the consultation process, you will have the chance to up-sell your products. Introduce potential clients to things that they may not have even considered if they had never come through the doors of your business.
In most cases, people who attend a free consultation session will end up buying something at the end of the process.
If you do free consultations, it is important that you are honest with the potential clients about what might suit them and what won't. Even if you make one quick sale now, you should aim to be in it for the long haul.
If you recommend an item to someone which doesn't suit them, that person is likely to develop a negative opinion of your company. At the end of the day they will be less likely to return to you.
On the other hand, if you suggest suitable alternatives, they are likely to find your honesty to be refreshing. Remember that if your client looks bad then people who see them may develop negative views of your company.
Targeted marketing is the act of diverting your resources towards targeting the people you want to use your company.
The groups who you target are likely to depend on the type of hair extensions that you are selling.
For example, if you specialize in selling colorful hair extensions, then you should target your marketing towards younger adults and teens. If you are selling a luxury brand of extensions, then you should try to target your products towards a hi-wealth woman.
Are you trying to sell your wigs to higher wealth individuals? Try putting adverts in a society magazine or in a highly-regarded country club. Think outside of the box!
Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing where "affiliates" are brought on board to try to help to make sales. Affiliates are rewarded for each new customer that they bring to the company.
Some types of affiliate marketing may also reward the affiliate if these new customers then bring others along with them. Affiliates can be rewarded in a number of different ways. The main types of affiliate rewards are cash, discount vouchers or free products (hair extensions).
Affiliates want to earn as many rewards as possible. Due to this, they are likely to come up with their own creative ways of marketing your products.
Affiliates throwing parties or events is a popular example of affiliate marketing used to show off products.
Our sister company, Dropship Bundles, offers an Affiliate Hair Extension system for Wordpress. If your hair extension website is Wordpress based then you should defiantly check it out.
These are just 10 of the hundreds of ways you can launch your own hair extension brand. Private Label Extensions specialized in helping you start your own hair extension business.
]]>Are you eager to start a hair business and trying to find out how to sell hair extensions?
At this point, you are so excited and willing to do anything to get your new hair venture off the ground.
You have been scrolling through Instagram lately and noticed people selling a "hair vendor list" that will help you purchase hair.
Should you buy the list? Are there really reputable hair vendors on the list? Do they sell Mink Hair (if you are looking for a mink hair vendor make sure you read our article about what is mink hair)?
Finding the best wholesale virgin hair vendors is not always easy. But, if you found this article I think you are REALLY close to what you want.
Let's go over some of the details.
The new trend of selling a list of hair vendors started gaining popularity in the last few years as more people have started getting into the hair extension industry.
With an estimated $10 Billion in annual hair sales, this industry is HOT and everyone is trying to get their piece.
A great hair vendor list will include a bunch of hair suppliers that will sell you wholesale hair extensions to supply your business. Most lists that are currently for sale on the market will vary with the number of hair suppliers.
How many hair suppliers do you need to sell the same products?
Good question!
This is what you need to ask yourself.
People's expectations of hair extensions can vary greatly. You might think that one bundle of hair is fantastic for the money while the person that creates the "hair vendor list" has a totally different opinion. I personally always rely on our client base to tell us what they like best.
If you are looking for a quick find for Raw Indian Hair, Malaysian hair, Brazilian Hair, or Vietnamese hair you could be disappointed for the simple fact your opinion differs. This is totally fine and expected.
You should expect to find a vendor that offers HD Lace Closures, HD Lace Wigs, Glueless Wigs, and more trending products.
The key to success in your hair business will be to find a reliable, trustworthy hair extension supplier.
Private Label Wholesale is direct from manufacturer solution that has proven products including bundles, closures, frontals, wigs, lashes, and more!
This website will solve all your hair supply issues. Pricing as good as the AliExpress & Alibaba vendors without the hassle. FREE ACCESS!
We have seen lists vary in price from $47 all the way up to $997!
Some will break it down by type of vendor. This could include one list that sells Indian hair while another sells Brazilian hair.
It really depends on the type of wholesale weave you are looking for.
One question you should ask yourself is how much does it cost for someone to come up with their own hair vendor list? I honestly could make one in just minutes.
The same ones you could just find yourself on Alibaba, Aliexpress, and DH Gate.
We have the vendor list discussion often in our Start a Hair Extension Business support group.
It was great that a lot of people that actually bought a list said Private Label Extensions were on it! I think that is the only thing I like about these lists.
So many people are looking for the top Aliexpress hair vendors. Did you know last year Aliexpress had to clear out over 90% of all their hair vendors because of all the complaints and issues they were receiving? I know you might have been looking for the best Alibaba hair vendors but do you really want to be another person with an issue? We will let you decide!
If you really wanted to find us and couldn't remember our name you could just search Google for "Wholesale Hair Extensions" and we are probably #1. Why is Private Label Extensions listed #1? Google knows what's best.
The best advice we can give is to do your own research.
It is just as easy to take the $200, $300, $400, that you would spend on one of these lists and just buy some sample bundles from a few suppliers.
If you are looking to work with a wholesale hair company in the USA that provides tons of support, drop shipping, education, support groups, customer service you can actually speak to, and more then please give the hair team at Private Label Extensions a chance.
Quick Tip: Make sure you know how to calculate the Delivered Cost of hair extensions from suppliers. Many people forget to factor in that overseas suppliers will often charge transaction fees and the shipping cost per bundle is much higher.
Don't want to work with us? (Shame on you!) No problem! Your next step would be to start searching and contacting hair companies on Alibaba & AliExpress.
WAIT!
I know what you are thinking. Are we really telling you where else you can find wholesale hair suppliers?
For sure! We are really confident in the quality of the products and services we offer.
Yes, many of the horror stories of working with some companies overseas are true.
Did you send a hair vendor funds via Western Union to save on fees and didn't hear back?
Yes, this has ever happened to us when we first started out. I sent money to a company in Malaysia and never received the hair. They even had the nerve to call me and ask for me to send more money for customs but didn't have a tracking number.
Never doing that again!
One time we ordered some samples from another hair vendor. Wow, the hair was so nice and for a great price.
I thought we struck gold with this supplier! Next, our company purchased about $3,000 in various sew-in extensions.
Time to get selling right? Wrong!
The next batch of hair when we decided to make a larger purchase was total crap. It was so bad we just didn't even feel right selling it at a bigger discount than we purchased it for. $3,000 loss!
Is there a guarantee that a company on the hair vendor list you purchased will be any different?
Absolutely not!
It would actually be funny if you asked the person selling a hair vendor list if they have a money-back guarantee if you don't like the hair extensions that are being sold from a company on the list.
Doubt it!
There are many ways you can find your own hair vendors without a hair vendor list.
If you have an Instagram page about hair extensions or wigs I am sure you have been bombarded by Instagram messages. Yes, hair vendors and wig vendors will find you. The biggest issue is that they are also messaging ALL of your followers as well to try and sell them hair. My advice would be to block them immediately.
A good virgin hair vendor might be easier to find compared to a raw hair vendor as there are so few, honest raw hair vendors. Especially when trying to find Raw Temple Indian Hair.
Some popular search terms for hair vendors are:
You might get lucky and find a reputable hair vendor.
If you decide to use someone from Alibaba or Aliexpress please proceed with caution. As I mentioned, the bait and switch method is very popular with them. And never do payments outside of the Alipayments system.
If you are looking for a USA based hair Dropshipper then consider the #1 most popular in the USA with Dropship Bundles. You will have access to both virgin human hair and raw hair extensions.
Are you looking for a Georgia based hair extension suppliers?

]]>You’ve set some hair length goals and want to achieve them at specific points of the year, but nothing seems to be working.
You feel as though your hair has been the same length for months on end and nothing is working. Looking for additional ways to improve your hair growth, you’ve taken every recommended supplement there is.
You’ve tried hair pills, extra water intake, protective styling for months on end but nothing is working for you.
At your wit’s end, you’ve had enough and wanted answers as to why you can’t get your hair to grow.
It just seems as though your hair is at a comfortable length and won’t move another inch.
What does that even mean for you?
You get discouraged when going on social media and seeing other people flaunt their tresses.
What are they doing that you’re not?
You’re not seeing the results that you want and have given up on additional help.
Most times when hair isn’t growing, there are a few underlying factors as to why.
It may not always be something that you can control, which can get tricky. However, there are a few things that you can control when it comes to hair growth and how you may be contributing to its stagnation.
Here are a few factors:
It’s not you, somewhere down your family line, someone’s hair didn’t grow as long as they wanted it and it’s affected you.
There’s not much you can do about it except to wait it out unless your hair has reached its terminal length, there’s still hope.
It sounds weird to say out loud but dropping your hair is a real thing. It’s a natural part of the hair growth process and is known to be replaced quickly by new hairs.
If you’re noticing shedding but no new growth taking place, it’s best to seek out a professional opinion.
Stress causes harm to your body in more ways than one and your hair can take a hit from this.
Outside of physical stress, your hair receives weight from heat styling and excessive oil use. Think back on how much you’ve styled your hair with heat or how much product you use to achieve a style.
Cut back on those things and allow your hair to breathe.
Split ends are no joke and can lead to severe damage and breakage with hair.
Once the hair breaks off, it’s hard for it to come back without a dramatic cut. Pay attention to how harsh you’re shampooing, brushing, and styling your hair.
These are factors to breakage and stunting hair growth.
We all know how amazing our hair looks with an amazing flat iron or curling wand but is the long-term damage worth it?
Heat tools cause more harm to our hair than we know and can play a significant role in your hair not growing. Using hot tools can begin to dry out your hair which ultimately leads to breakage and damaged hair cuticles.
Do yourself a favor and try heatless styles for a while.
Dieting is a significant part of your appearance and affects your hair more than you think.
The foods you take in affect the quality and condition of your hair. If you’re not getting an adequate amount of vitamin B12, Zinc, or Ferritin, this can stunt hair growth.
A lack of Ferritin causes a to stunt hair growth and causing shedding. Be sure to seek out a professional opinion to see what may be missing from your diet.
After acknowledging what may be causing your hair growth to be stagnant, you’re available for new options.
You’ve determined the hair supplements don’t work and you’ve even stopped using much heat. While you’re making changes, you do not see any progress with your hair. Something has to give. You want, and that’s completely understandable.
When all else fails, look into trying out modern hair transplants.
When you hear the words “hair transplants,” it may sound like something tailored to balding men, but it’s not.
Modern hair transplants are a procedure to help replace hair that falls out, thinning, or no longer growing.
Hair follicles are created to replace the ones that are no longer producing strands of hair.
Commonly Asked Hair Transplant Questions
A hair transplant is a surgical procedure that moves hair from one part of the body (the donor site) to a bald or balding part of the body (the recipient site). It's primarily used to treat male pattern baldness.
The procedure can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, depending on the extent of the transplant.
Patients are given local anesthesia during the procedure, so you shouldn't feel pain. There may be some discomfort and slight pain during recovery, which can be managed with pain relievers.
Like any surgical procedure, risks include infection, bleeding, scarring, and unnatural-looking new hair growth. However, complications are rare when the procedure is done by an experienced surgeon.
Recovery varies by individual, but most people can return to work within a few days. It’s common to see some swelling and scarring that fades over time.
It typically takes between 6 to 12 months to see the full results of the transplant. Initially, the transplanted hair will fall out before new growth begins.
The cost varies widely depending on the extent of the transplant and the technique used, ranging from $4,000 to $15,000 or more. It's rarely covered by insurance.
Yes, transplanted hair is generally permanent. However, hair loss might continue in other areas, requiring further treatment or transplants.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) involves extracting individual hair follicles and transplanting them, while FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) involves removing a strip of skin with hair follicles and then transplanting the follicles. FUE leaves less noticeable scars and has a shorter recovery time.
Not everyone is a good candidate. Ideal candidates have sufficient hair density at the donor site and healthy scalp conditions. A consultation with a hair transplant specialist is necessary to evaluate eligibility.
Before moving forward with a hair transplant procedure, it’s important to research your hair conditions and find a doctor that’s a good fit.
After seeing a doctor that can perform the transplant, set up a consultation. While an operation may fix the issues that you’re experiencing, everyone isn’t a good candidate.
Due to specific problems that may be occurring, a transplant may cause more harm than good.
It is crucial to know the type of issues you are experiencing with your hair growth and what is preventing growth.
This would also be a great time to look up the different methods that would assist your hair. The types of stripping methods for hair transplants are essential to know about.
Every procedure won’t work for every person and their conditions.
Today’s modern technique of hair transplants involves thousands of hair follicles placed on the scalp with two sessions.
Using the process of creating incisions to create cosmetic follicles in the scalp. You begin to see the growth of hair transplants after the first few months of the procedure. The hair continues to grow for the rest of the person’s lifetime.
It is an excellent alternative to those who qualify and have a need for the service.
The type of progress you’ll experience with the hair transplants varies with each person.
If you’re serious about implementing the change of hair growth, start researching the transplant process.
Everyone deserves to achieve their hair goals and technology is ever changing to make that happen.
]]>So you've found yourself in a pretty sticky predicament. You've managed to damage your precious tresses.
Whether the damage is heat, hair color, or even mechanical damage, the now fragile condition of your hair makes it difficult to not only style but also to color! Many will advise those with damaged hair to avoid color like the plague.
Little do they know that depending on the condition of your strands, you may be able to pull off a beautiful new color and improve the health of your hair in the process!
Before considering applying any chemical to your hair, you must be aware of what has compromised your hair. Check out these descriptors to determine what you may have:
This occurs when you apply heat to hair strands. The result can be dry, brittle hair with a loss of hair or curl pattern. The disulfide bonds in the hair strands can
rearrange or be damaged by the overuse of hot styling tools, including the blow dryer.
This occurs when you improperly use color chemicals or lighter on your hair. Lightener, peroxide, and ammonia are some of the components that can be damaging to the hair without proper pre and post-care.
This occurs when daily manipulation causes hair to become weak in some areas, resulting in loss of curl pattern or even breakage.
Once you have assessed your damage, follow these steps to decide how to continue.
Regardless of the cause of your hair's damage, minimizing the damage before any coloring process is imperative.
If you notice any dead or split ends you will need to cut them off. I recommend allowing a stylist to give you a thorough trim, merely because they can see the back of your head better and will be able to provide you with a precise haircut.
If you don't remove split ends before a hair color process, you run the risk of your hair breaking off or further splitting up the shaft, resulting in excessive breakage and irreversible damage.
I highly recommend pampering yourself with a penetrating protein treatment a few days before your hair color process.
You can complete a deep protein treatment at home or in a salon with your trim session if you prefer. Redken Extreme Conditioner works wonders for damaged and processed hair, especially paired with a hair steamer.
After thoroughly shampooing your hair with a protein-rich shampoo, like Redken Extreme Shampoo, apply a generous amount of Redken Extreme Conditioner through your hair, focusing on the ends. Allow this product to sit in your hair for 20 before rinsing.
Finish your wash day routine with your favorite moisturizing leave-in conditioner and style.
Another excellent home DIY remedy is a hot oil treatment. Pick an oil that has high levels of protein.
I recommend mixing two parts of coconut oil with one part of olive oil in a small Pyrex glass bowl. Bring about 3 cups of water to boil in a small pot and set the Pyrex bowl in the boiling water. The heat from the water will melt the oil down.
Once you have fully melted the oil, you should carefully test the temperature to prevent burns. Apply the oil to your hair, focusing on the ends. Allow the oil to sit for 2 minutes, then shampoo and condition your hair with a protein-rich shampoo.
Semi-permanent colors or rinses are typically non-damaging to the hair and can aid in the health of your hair.
They provide a protective, non-permanent coating to the hair, adding shine and sealing down the cuticle. The result is a fresh color that feels soft and silky. Check out this list of my favorite semi-permanent color lines:
Clairol Professional Beautiful Collection is a moisturizing color line that is gentle enough to use directly after a relaxer. Leaves hair feeling moisturized with Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, and Vitamin E.
This color line is available in 56 shades with no ammonia, peroxide, or alcohol. Adore's formula offers a perfect blend of natural ingredients providing rich color, enhancing shine, and leaving hair soft and silky.
Joico Vero K-PAK Color Intensity Color System gives hair color pros the power to create vivid, on-trend, insanely intense shades.
With these color lines, you cannot go wrong. Keep in mind that these semi-permanent haircolors will create a natural gloss and enrich the natural color of your hair.
If you choose to use a fashion color like blue, red, etc., you will notice a slight hue of color when in the sun. If you want to see vivid, vibrant results when working with pastel colors, it is best to apply semi-permanent hair color on pre-lightened hair. These colors will not lighten your hair! Now, let's get to the fun part!
Using semi-permanent hair color is super easy because it is a one-step process.
No developer, no mixing, no foil, no fuss! Just grab a pair of disposable gloves, squeeze a generous amount of color into your hands or a color bowl, and apply thoroughly through your hair. If you have long and thick hair, separate your hair into four equal quadrants for easier application.
Once all the color has thoroughly saturated your hair, apply a processing cap, and sit under a hooded dryer for 15-20 minutes. If you do not have a hooded dryer, allow the color to process for 20-30. After the time has elapsed, rinse the color out thoroughly with lukewarm water. Lightly shampoo and condition with a moisturizing or color-protect formula.
Once you've reached this point, you can style your hair as usual! You should notice a fresh, healthy hair color and moisturized, shiny strands. Your hair should also feel much more robust due to protein treatments.
Feel free to repeat this color process as often as you like. As I stated earlier in this article, semi-permanent color is a non-damaging color that coats the cuticle, never penetrating into the cortex. The semi-permanent color will never lift the natural or previous color of your hair, and it may only last about two to four weeks, depending on how often you shampoo your hair. After many applications and over time, the color will start to last longer due to so many coats compared to one use.
This method also works on 100% human hair extensions!
If you've had your bundles for a while and have used a ton of heat on them, there is a chance they may have suffered some heat damage, especially on the ends. Giving your hair extensions some semi-permanent color love is perfect to remedy this issue.
Similar to your natural hair, it is always best to trim dead and split ends off of your extensions. The best way to do this is to construct your extensions into a wig or install them in a sew-in
Unless your hair extensions are extremely damaged, I recommend omitting the deep treatment step to avoid oily hair. If you need to do a treatment, leave the conditioner in for ten minutes only to avoid heavy hair.
Similar to your natural hair, apply the hair color thoroughly to the hair extensions.
Once they are all saturated, proceed to sit them in a plastic shopping bag to allow them to process. I recommend leaving the color in for an hour. The longer the color sits, the longer the color will last.
After the allotted time has elapsed, merely shampoo the color out the bundles and condition. Let the hair air dry and then style as usual.
Although this is a relatively easy and straightforward process, there are a few crucial do's and don'ts to prevent any hiccups.
This is a no-brainer but be sure to use an old t-shirt that you are okay with staining with color.
While at it, protect your carpet with painter's plastic to prevent staining it. Semi-permanent color tends to stain more compared to semi-permanent and permanent color, so be mindful.
If your hair is a high-lift blonde, do not put a brown semi-permanent color on top of it.
Your hair color will turn a nasty green color if you do. You need to mix a red color filler into the brown/black dye to get a darker color that is not green. Even when using the red filler, there is a chance that your hair will fade to green color only because the color is not permanent.
Semi-permanent color is safe to use on damaged hair. In this case, this includes heat damage and minor color damage.
Do not color your over-processed hair!
Over-processed means if your hair is breaking non-stop, if your hair feels gummy, or if your hair has combined heat and color damage, your hair is not in the condition to color at all. Do be discouraged!
I will provide excellent tips to start a healthy hair journey to improve or reverse your damage if possible.
Hair damage is inevitable, but ways to prevent excessive damage exist.
I know many women prefer not to cut their hair because they want to keep the length, but this is counterproductive because damaged hair does not grow!
Split ends are dry and brittle and eventually break off. Splits also tend to continue to split up the strands, so when you finally get a trim, you will have more hair cut off!
You must take care of your hair to prevent damage!
Something as simple as leaving your conditioner in for 15 minutes every week can improve the condition of your hair. Create a solid treatment routine that works for you. If your hair is damaged, one treatment a week is required.
If your hair is in a healthy state, a treatment every two weeks is efficient.
Not to be pretentious, but not all drugstore products are worth the investment.
Many cheaper products are filled with water, silicones, and fillers to create an illusion of healthier hair, but the result is short-lived. It is imperative to invest in quality hair products that fill your hair with nutrient-rich ingredients formulated to repair and maintain the health of your hair.
Here are a few brands I recommend if you want to create long-lasting results with your hair:
Design Essentials provides premium quality hair care solutions engineered to infuse hair with a natural balance of organic ingredients, vitamins, and proteins that promote healthy and manageable hair. You can find Design Essentials at your local beauty supply store.
Redken supplies a thorough line of shampoos and conditioners to correct and balance the hair. Redken products are concentrated, fortified with proteins and modern technology, making them worth every penny.
Carol's Daughter provides lines geared to correct and balance the hair. Carol's Daughter has got you covered from hydration to protein to even fullness.
Prevent heat damage by simply turning down the flat iron and limiting use! Try Flexi-rod sets, wash-n-go's, twist-outs, and other heatless styles to maintain and style your hair without the heat!
Although we don't consider blow-drying direct heat, it can damage your hair over time with excessive use due to its "flash-drying" technology.
If you allow your hair to air dry or stretch your hair using Flexi-rods, Curlformers, twist, or braid-outs, you will find that your hair is much more moisturized, resulting in healthier ends.
With these tips and techniques, you are well on your way to safely coloring your damaged natural hair or weave while improving the health of your tresses.
Remember, improving the health of your hair is a journey! You may have made some mistakes along the way, but implementing new steps to your regimen can radically improve your tresses over time!

A lot of men know they are going to be bald one day.
The older they get, the more they anticipate the dreaded day of saying goodbye to their defined hairline and witnessing their hair thinning daily. But men accept it because there's an end, just like anything in life.
“Hair loss is genetic,” said Dr. Alan Bauman of the Bauman Medical Group in Florida.
In addition, male hair loss can be triggered by everyday habits such as smoking or taking certain medications, stress, and other medical conditions such as alopecia.
Because we are used to men balding, we need help to adapt to the idea of men getting their hair back, especially in a quick turnaround. And if it did reappear overnight, it would shock us.
What if I told you that men could get a full head of hair back?
The texture of man weaves is measured by MM.
The lower the number the more the curl will be tight.
The base options are either "French Lace" or "Medical PU."
Well, it’s happening. Now, more than ever, several men are considering getting a “man weave.”
Yes, a “Man Weave.” Some call it a Man Unit, Male Wave, Men's Hair Extensions, formally known as a toupee. Men are wearing hair units--units that are almost like wigs.
The popularity of men installing these hair units has recently risen substantially.
Many started a couple of years ago with this fresh new idea.
The yearn-for confidence and feeling young again is the reason why men want to get their hair back.
It’s just like women getting that exciting feeling about receiving new hair extensions in the mail: trying a different look, looking fresher and more beautiful after their installation--men want that same feeling.
Is this idea controversial?
Historically, men have been known to think negatively about women wearing weaves and hair extensions. Now that men are starting to wear hair unit weaves, are men more appreciative of the hair industry?
Do they see what hair can do to a person’s confidence and lifestyle?
Personally, I think culturally, growing up; we have been used to the idea that men do not necessarily need hair to enjoy life.
Men, culturally and socially, don’t have to have hair to be attractive.
“Image is a very important thing to both men and women and the fact that fashion trends are becoming more unisex and less gender-specific shows just how much the image industry is a huge game-changer,” states Susan Mukami of Potentash.com
Hair bundles, weaves, wigs, and hair products are a multi-billion dollar industry, and man weaves add to that industry.
As hair weaves appear more and more accurate and natural, especially for men and women of color, the dollars of this multi-billion industry continue to reach new heights and are available for anyone interested.
Today, what you can do with hair is limitless. The black hair industry is forever evolving, spending over 2.5 billion dollars.
This number shows the high importance of hair in the Black community. Not only have African Americans/Black men have bought into the idea, but man weaves come in different types of textures for all ethnicities: Caucasians, Latinos, Asians, etc. There is so much versatility when it comes to man weaves.
Man weaves vary in length and styles, such as braids, cornrows, realistic loc extensions, and different hair textures, such as straight, wavy, curly, kinky curly, afro kinky, etc.
“Man weaves are cranial prosthesis hair replacement units that are non-surgical.” Installing these hair units is helping men who have lost their hair regain it back.
Many patients who go through balding, thinning, or cancer treatments are usually tempted to get these cranial prosthesis hair replacement units.
Wade the Barber, a barber from Baltimore, Maryland, made the “man weave” very popular. He is a master barber, business owner, and entrepreneur.
Wade, is a certified Hair Loss Specialist, and he was one of the first barbers to offer and install custom hair units for men. His service allows men who are thinning or balding to regain their confidence by having hair again.
Without a doubt, the male weave helps with overall confidence. When you look good, you feel good.
I know what you’re thinking. “Okay, I get the whole man weave thing,” but how do you install it? How does it look so real?
Could I notice if a guy has on a man weave?” We need answers! We need receipts!
First, the installation process for a man weave is simple-- yet tedious. Someone with a great eye for styling would be the best behind a barber's chair. It’s craftsmanship.
"Man weaves" are installed with hair bands or comfort strips, which are adjustable elastic tabs, and glue. It is part of the process that gives the most natural results.
The hair glue and bonding chemicals do not damage the hair.
This video shows a detailed walkthrough of a man weave installation at a Private Label.
The stylist first defines a client’s hairline before starting the hair process. A marker is used to draw a line in the front of the hair.
The stylist then combs and cuts or shaves down excess hair that they'd have to remove before installing the hair unit.
After, the stylist styles the actual hair unit, cutting it into shape and preparing it for
installation on the head.
Next, they'll place a hair glue bond on the bald areas of the client’s scalp. Finally, the stylist uses a brush to glaze the glue bond over the scalp.
The stylist then uses a hairdryer to dry the glue bond to ensure the glue and the man weave quickly adhere together.
Next, they carefully place the hair unit on the head according to the defined hairline.
After continued styling and cutting, it's completed. And there you have it, the “man weave” is installed. Male hair extensions don't require a complex installation, but a professional should always do it.
Men feel confident once they leave the hair salon or barbershop.
The results are transforming. In addition to their self-confidence back, some men look younger with a head full of hair. They feel youthful again.
Stylist Q. Shamone of Atlanta stated, “Once you cross over, there ain't no coming back. This is a lifestyle.”
"The results were amazing," Robert Jenkins, getting a man weave for the first time, states, "I think I was shocked because I hadn't seen myself with so much hair for so long. I didn't know how to take it."
Hairstylist and Barber Wade the Barber stated: “...some of these brothers come in here nervous and then walk out with a smile and happy about life...”
So we get the general idea of how to install the man weave, but each man weave is styled exclusively for each client--meaning, no man weave is the same.
When installed, the stylist has to take into account the head shape of the client, the hairline, the hair texture, and color. It is a simple--yet tedious process. The stylist or barber then has to cut, trim, and shape the client's own hair and the unit to blend both hairs to give it a more natural look.
The average cost for man weaves usually ranges from $200 to $800, and it takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours to install.
The texture of male weave can vary as well. Some of the most popular styles include the Extra Kinky Man Weave 4 MM, Kinky Curly Man Weave 6 MM, and Afro Wavy Man Weave 8 MM.
A man weave lasts about 3 to 6 weeks with proper upkeep and maintenance. Those who have hair units should be careful about too much water exposure. Wearing a shower cap in the shower is a must.
Although, it is possible to wear a hair unit while swimming. To get the full investment and life span of the man weaves, it depends on how well the individual maintains it. But it’s always okay, and you may be advised to go back to your hairstylist or barber to help with the maintenance.
Also, clients should even wear a du-rag or head covering at night. I also recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase. Many types of hair coverings help keep the texture and look of the hair long-lasting and looking fresh.
Normalizing men wearing a weave will take some time, but it is definitely progressing. Hair weave for men should become the norm.
Men’s egos boost, and it feels great knowing they have found something that makes them feel good about themselves. Hair is an essential factor in someone’s life, whether you are a man or a woman. As the hair industry continues to evolve, so will our sense of style and the importance of our appearance.
I cannot see women policing men who wear man weaves, but definitely, be shocked and surprised by it. The hair industry is transforming and will continue to change.
What do you think about men wearing hair units?
You read correctly; there are more than one or two ways of installing sew-in hair extensions!
It’s not just your typical glue and sew-in methods that seem to be the most popular. There are tons of methods! Some are even so easy that you can do them yourself.
It seems that with each passing year comes a new installation method for extensions, and I’m all here for it. Talk about options! Below I’ll discuss six different hair extension methods that you can try.
In my opinion, the glue-in method is the easiest and fastest method! However, it may be the most damaging too. It all depends on the sew-in weave installation. You can apply this one of two ways.
The first way you can glue in hair extensions is by braiding or laying your natural hair down and placing a weave cap over your head. The cap acts as a barrier between your hair and the glue. Once intact, measure the needed track per layer, add glue, and apply pressure to the head. That’s it! Really easy! This style is normally called a “quick weave,” and we can see why!
Quick Note: If you are looking for inexpensive glue in hair extensions make sure to check out our Malaysian Straight Bundles.
The second method is the same but minus the cap. Some people don’t mind having the tracks glued directly to their hair. There’s also a special type of glue that’s made just for that option. It’s more like a molding gel that gets applied to your whole head, let dry, then apply tracks.
Glue in hair extensions can be a great option if they are done right. Make sure to follow our tips in order to achieve great results with glue in hair extensions.
The sewing method offers a more secure style. Keeping the extensions in place until you’re ready to take them out.
To prepare for this style, you will need a needle and thread, and your hair will need to be braided.
The two most common braid patterns for the sewing method are a circular style, the beehive, or straight back.
The desired braiding pattern often depends on how you want the extensions to lay or where your part will be located. You should consult with whoever is sewing your hair so they can best advise you.
Once you’re all braided up, you will need the needle and thread. I prefer using nylon thread because it yields a more durable sewin. Place thread through the needle and tie a knot to secure the thread in place first. Then, starting at either side of the nape of the hair, begin sewing the needle with the wefts through the braid, pull the thread all the way out, and repeat.
In this method, the thread locks the tracks to the braid, so it’s super secure. Also, the takedown for this method is really easy too! All you do is simply cut the thread out! Just be careful not to cut your own hair, though! It’s always best to have someone do it for you.
This style has been around since the 1990s. It has definitely been making its comeback, out of nowhere, I started seeing many women rock this style again! It’s a fun, quick method for almost anyone to do it themselves! So with this method, you can save your salon money for the next trip!
When doing the crochet method to apply extensions, you first need a crochet needle. Braid your hair straight back as well. If you want some big hair or big curly hair, I suggest this style because the visible appearance of the loop won’t show compared to the possibility of straight hair.
All you do is slide the needle through the braid, open latch on the needle, add hair, close the latch, and viola! All done! Unless you honestly don’t want to do their hair, this is the method for you! You can sit down and watch your favorite movie all while looping and pulling, just looping and pulling!
The infamous extension method that’s been around since forever! Everyone from celebrities, high schoolers, and all ethnicities wear the cutest clip-ins!
They are precisely what their name is, clip-ins. It’s hair that is already threaded on a track and has a clip attached. The clip allows for easy weave installation.
Normally people wear these if they want to add some extra length and/or volume really fast. It looks great on straight hair. Clip-ins are also the latest and greatest thing in the natural hair world.
To install, just part your hair where you want the extension to go and clip it onto your scalp like you are combing your hair. For example, let’s say you were wearing a braid-out style with your natural hair and you wanted a full look, clip-ins would be great to use. You wouldn’t even need to add a lot either, maybe just two or three clip-ins around certain parts of your head to give you a fuller look.
Mirco-links are also making its stamp in the beauty industry. It is a tedious installation method that may take up to three to four hours to complete; and requires a specially trained hairstylist to install.
You must have a clamping tool, also known as hair pliers, to install the extensions for micro-linking. Micro-links are attached with a bead that gets applied to each of your hair strands. Your natural hair goes through the bead that is applied on a loop, and then the extensions go through next. When the hair goes through the bead, clamp it in to secure the section.
Once installed, you can treat it like your own hair. You will be able to wash, cut, style, and color the hair, of course, assuming the hair is 100% virgin.
You’re guaranteed to have long-lasting wear with this hair! This method will ensure a seamless, natural look that will leave spectators wondering if it’s all your hair!
The bonding method is great for leaving your hair out while rocking the extensions simultaneously. Some may argue that this method can be damaging to your hair. Others say it's only damaging depending on how you remove the extensions.
Bonding is done by parting your hair and gluing the tracks slightly underneath the scalp (so the scalp can breathe). It’s very similar to a quick weave installation, but the only difference is your natural hair is exposed with no braids.) This method creates a natural illusion by allowing the extensions to blend well with your hair.
There you have it! You now have six different hair extension methods to choose from. Each method has its purpose for all different preferences. We love options; they allow you to see which method best suits your needs.
So the next time you are getting extensions, be sure to weigh all options out and be sure to consult with your hairstylist.

(Pictured above is a hairline closeup of the Private Label Invisible Hairline Wigs)
HD lace wigs are a type of wig made with high-definition lace. This lace is very thin and transparent, making it nearly invisible when applied to the skin. HD lace wigs are popular because they provide a natural-looking hairline and are virtually undetectable when worn.
They are often used by wig wearers who want a realistic and natural appearance. HD lace wigs are also known for their durability and ability to withstand heat and styling.
HD Lace wigs have been used by the movie industry for some time and became popular in 2018. Now it has taken over the market as the most desired type of lace.
Keep reading, we have the info you need on how to install a wig below!
A flawless installation is crucial because it ensures the wig looks natural and stays in place. On the other hand, a poorly installed wig can be uncomfortable to wear and cause problems such as itching scalp, irritation, and shedding.
A flawless installation can also help prevent damage to the wig, as improper installation can cause tangling, matting, and breakage. In addition, a perfect install can help the wig to blend seamlessly with the wearer's natural hair, creating a more realistic appearance.
Therefore, a flawless installation is crucial for achieving a comfortable and natural-looking wig.
When choosing the right HD lace wig, it's essential to consider a few key factors.
The right wig can make all the difference in achieving a natural-looking and comfortable install. So let’s talk about the perfect HD lace wig for your needs. Hopefully, we have a wig at Private Label that will satisfy your needs.
What do you need to install a wig? Let's go over what takes for a lace front wig install.
We'll cover topics such as choosing the right style, finding the perfect lace measurements (13x4 or 13x6 for Frontals, Full lace wigs, and 4x4 or 5x5 for Closures), and selecting the appropriate cap size and type. By following these tips, you'll be on your way to finding the perfect HD lace wig that will suit your style and needs.
When choosing an HD lace wig, you must consider your personal style and desired look. For example, do you want a wig that will give you a bold and dramatic transformation, or are you looking for something more subtle and natural?
(HD Lace blends with all skin tones)
Think about the hairstyles you typically wear and choose a wig that complements your personal style.
For example, if you usually wear your hair in a sleek and straight style, consider an HD lace wig with straight hair. On the other hand, if you prefer a more voluminous and curly look, choose an HD lace wig with curls or waves. Consider what looks best on you and choose a wig to help you achieve your desired look.
The density of the wig will be an important decision based on look and budget. For example, a 130% density wig is natural and lightweight, less expensive than a 180% density wig. However, when shopping for a 180% density wig, you will notice they are more costly because more hair is used to make the wig.
Closure wigs will only cover the first 4” - 5” of your front hairline, while a lace front wig will cover a full 13”, which is ear to ear. Closure wigs are great because they are easy to take on and off, while lace frontal wigs require more maintenance. But we will get into that later in the discussion.
When choosing an HD lace wig, selecting the appropriate cap size and style is essential.
The cap size refers to the circumference of the wig and should be chosen based on the size of your head.
Several cap-size options are typically available, including small, medium, and large:
It's essential to measure your head and choose a cap size that fits well and is not too loose or too tight.
(There are many different shades of wig caps. Use what works best for you or your client.)
The cap style refers to how the wig is constructed and can vary depending on the type of wig you choose. Some common cap styles include full lace, lace front, and lace closure.
Full lace wigs are made entirely of lace and offer the most natural look and versatility in styling. Lace front wigs have a lace front and a non-lace back and are a good option for those who want a more affordable wig with a natural-looking hairline.
Lace closure wigs have a small lace panel at the top of the wig and are a good choice for those who want a more low-maintenance wig. Consider your personal preferences and needs when selecting a cap size and style.
If you want to take your HD lace wig to the next level, consider customizing it to fit your style and needs.
Customizing your wig can create a more natural and realistic look and make it more comfortable to wear. Let’s get into tips on customizing your HD lace wig to achieve the perfect fit and look.
We'll cover topics such as trimming the lace to fit your hairline, bleaching the knots for a more natural look, and adding baby hairs for added realism. (precise plucking tweezers to reduce the density around the hairline for a more natural look)
(The Precise Plucker has a built-in light for the perfect tweezing session.)
By following these tips, you'll be on your way to creating a customized HD lace wig tailored to your style and needs.
One way to customize your HD lace wig is to trim the lace to fit your hairline.
Trimming HD lace can help the wig blend seamlessly with your natural hair and create a more natural-looking hairline. To trim the lace, start by placing the wig on your head and securing it. Next, use a pair of hair shears to trim the excess lace along your hairline. Take your time and make minor cuts to avoid accidentally cutting too much lace.
You can also use a wig cap or a piece of tape to mark the areas where you want to trim the lace. Once you have cut the lace to your desired length, remove the wig and gently smooth down the trimmed edges to create a seamless finish.
Repeat this process on the other side of the wig, and you'll have a perfectly fitted HD lace wig.
Another way to customize your HD lace wig is to bleach the knots.
Bleaching the knots involves lightening the base of the hair tied to the lace, creating a more natural-looking appearance. You will need a bleaching powder and a developer to bleach the knots.
Private Label Partner and celebrity hairstylist Dallas Christopher recommends using Cream Developer 10-20 volume with Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose Lightener formula.
This lightener lifts hair evenly and quickly with control. It has natural oils and conditioning agents such as jojoba oils and castor beans to help buffer the lightning process and reduce the knots' damage.
Mix the powder and developer according to the package instructions, and apply the mixture to the knots on the wig. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for leaving the mix on the knots.
(The viscosity of the mixture should be like whip cream, a thick consistency so that the product does not crawl further up the hair shaft of your wig during process time.)
Once the desired lightness is achieved, rinse the wig thoroughly and allow it to dry. Bleaching the knots can be a time-consuming and potentially damaging process, so it's essential to be careful and follow the instructions carefully. Dallas, Fill in anything you like here.
(Depending on the shade of lightness achieved with your lightning process, use a blue shampoo or violet shampoo to help tone out unwanted orange or yellow undertones.)
If you need to be more comfortable bleaching the knots, you can always have a professional stylist do it.
A favorite way to customize your HD lace wig is to add baby hairs.
Baby hairs are fine hairs that frame the face and add a natural-looking detail to the wig. To add baby hairs, use a pair of hair shears to carefully trim the excess lace along the hairline of the wig.
Once the lace is trimmed, use a small edge brush or toothbrush to gently pull out a few strands of hair along the hairline. Next, use a light hold pomade or gel to style the baby hairs into place, creating a natural-looking and seamless blend with your natural hair.
Be sure to use a light hand when styling the baby hairs, as too much product can weigh them down and create a less natural look. However, with practice and patience, you can easily add baby hairs to your HD lace wig for a more realistic and natural-looking appearance.
We recommend using Private Label’s Edge Control to keep your edges and baby hairs down.
Properly preparing your hair and scalp is vital in achieving a flawless HD lace wig install.
By taking the time to prep your hair and scalp properly, you can ensure that the wig sits comfortably and stays in place all day. Let’s review some tips on properly prepping your hair and scalp for an HD lace wig.
These topics include cleansing and conditioning your hair, removing excess oils and products from your scalp, and using a wig cap for added security and comfort.
By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to a comfortable, and seamless HD lace wig install.
Before installing an HD lace wig, it's essential to cleanse and condition your hair to ensure it is clean and healthy. Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to cleanse and nourish your hair gently.
Be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly to remove any excess product, as this can interfere with the adhesive and cause the wig to shift or come loose. Once your hair is clean and conditioned, use a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush to remove any knots or tangles gently. This step will help to prevent breakage and make it easier to apply the wig.
After cleansing and conditioning your hair, allow it to air dry, or use a low heat setting on a hair dryer to dry it gently. Avoid using high heat or heat styling products on your hair, as this can cause damage and make it more challenging to achieve a seamless wig install.
Before installing an HD lace wig, it's essential to remove any excess oils or products from your scalp. This method will help the wig to sit comfortably and stay in place all day.
To remove excess oils and products from your scalp, use a dry shampoo or a mild clarifying shampoo to clean your scalp gently. Make sure you rinse your scalp thoroughly to remove any excess product. You can also use a cotton ball or pad soaked in rubbing alcohol to gently wipe away any excess oils or products from your scalp.
Avoid using harsh or abrasive products on your scalp, as these can cause irritation and damage your hair and skin. Once your scalp is clean and free of excess oils and products, you'll be ready to install your HD lace wig.
A wig cap is a great way to add security and comfort to your HD lace wig install. A wig cap is a stretchy, lightweight fabric that fits snugly over your head and helps secure the wig.
Wig Caps also help to protect your natural hair and keep it from getting tangled or damaged. To use a wig cap, simply pull it over your head and adjust it to fit snugly. Once the wig cap is in place, you can begin installing your HD lace wig according to your preferred method.
Wig caps come in various materials and colors, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs and preferences. In addition, wig caps are inexpensive and effective in ensuring a comfortable and secure HD lace wig install.
The correct adhesives and tools are crucial for flawless HD lace wig installation. The suitable adhesive will help secure the wig and prevent it from shifting or coming loose. The right tools will also make the installation process easier and more efficient.
When choosing an adhesive, consider the type of scalp you have and the amount of hold time you need. For example, some adhesives are specifically formulated for oily scalps and provide a stronger hold, while others are more suitable for dry scalps and offer a lighter hold.
Private Label has a few lace glue options based on the level of hold, which is always a good option.
It's always a good idea to do a patch test before applying the adhesive to your entire scalp to ensure that it is suitable for your skin and won't cause irritation. In addition to adhesives, you'll need a few tools to help install your HD lace wig.
A pair of hair shears and a wig brush are essential for trimming the lace and styling the wig. A wig cap can also help add extra security and comfort. Then, you'll be well on your way to a seamless and comfortable HD lace wig install using the correct adhesives and tools.
When choosing a wig adhesive, you must consider your scalp type and the amount of hold time you need.
For example, some adhesives are explicitly formulated for oily scalps and provide a stronger hold, while others are more suitable for dry scalps and offer a lighter hold.
It's always a good idea to do a patch test before applying the adhesive to your entire scalp to ensure that it is suitable for your skin and won't cause irritation.
In addition to scalp type, you'll also want to consider the hold time of the adhesive. Some adhesives are designed to provide a solid and long-lasting hold, while others are more suitable for short-term wear.
Consider your needs and preferences when selecting an adhesive, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper application and removal. By choosing the right wig adhesive, you'll be able to achieve a secure and comfortable HD lace wig install.
Investing in a good pair of hair shears and a wig brush is vital in achieving a flawless HD lace wig install. Hair shears are essential for trimming the excess lace along the hairline of the wig and creating a seamless finish.
A wig brush is also useful for styling and maintaining the wig, as it helps to detangle the hair and remove any knots or tangles gently. When choosing hair shears and a wig brush, be sure to invest in high-quality products that are designed specifically for wigs.
Cheap or poorly made tools can damage the wig and make it more challenging to achieve a professional-looking install.
Investing in a good pair of hair shears and a wig brush will enable you to install and maintain your HD lace wig.
