The process is quick. The process to make and apply the hair mask should take 3 minutes or less. The masks take a short time to settle into your hair as well. You save money. Homemade hair masks can save you an expensive trip to the salon or to the store to buy a premade mask. Let's be real, doing either of the can end up being expensive. Quality Ingredients. Using a hair mask product that does not rely on harsh chemicals for the desired result is satisfying, and you know you're not putting anything harsh on your hair. Making the Mask Is Easy. One mask is relatively easy to make, and there are tons of recipes to try out that are simple and don't require many ingredients. The vitamins and essential fatty acids naturally found in coconut oil nourish the scalp and help to remove sebum build-up from hair follicles. Coconut oil helps your hair grow longer and thicker. All you need for this process is about a quarter of a cup of warmed coconut oil. The oil needs to be in its liquid form for it to work best. You then want to apply it to your hair. You can choose to do this if your hair is wet or dry the choice is up to you. Next, leave it the oil in for at least an hour. Keep in mind that coconut oil stains quickly so you may want to wear old clothes during this process. Also, I recommend that you wear a shower cap while the oil sits to make sure that it stays in place. Once the hour is up, you want to wash the oil out of your hair, and you are good to go!
Avocado & Egg Yolk Hair MaskEggs have a lot of proteins, minerals, and B-complex vitamins that are essential hair nutrients. This nutrient helps to prevent hair loss by strengthening the roots of your hair. Biotin and other B-complex vitamin properties found within eggs help with this especially. The nutrients also help promote new hair growth, adding volume and thickening your hair. The proteins help strengthen your hair while the fats help condition it which improves hair texture. Banana Hair MaskBananas are rich in vitamins, potassium, natural oils, and antioxidants. Potassium helps to heal dry and damaged hair. Vitamin A strengthens hair follicles and nourishes dry hair. Strawberry Hair MaskI was shocked to stumble across a hair mask that includes strawberries. Surprisingly enough, strawberries can be very beneficial to your hair. Strawberries contain a significant amount of vitamin. This fact is beneficial because it helps to control scalp oil. Strawberries rinse away excess oil build-up from the hair and scalp. They also regulate the natural pH of the scalp. And to top it all off, they leave your hair looking glossy and shiny! Here is what you will need:
- One handful of fresh strawberries (about seven is enough for medium length hair)
- One tablespoon honey
- One tablespoon coconut oil
More Good Hair ItemsHere are a few more items that can advance the quality of your hair that you can make into a hair mask. Apple cider vinegar - Apple cider vinegar helps to eliminate excess oils and grease from your scalp and hair. It also helps to clear away dandruff. Milk - milk helps to soften hair Extra virgin olive oil - olive oil helps to hydrate your hair and acts as a conditioner. The oil works wonders on brittle, dry, and damaged hair. Lemons - Lemons are useful in treating dandruff and itchiness of the scalp. Lemons also help balance your scalp's pH level and helps prevent infection while supporting hair growth.
