Malaysian Hair Color & Product Testing

Malaysian Hair Color & Product Testing

The Hair Color Results are In!

When offering new products for our wholesale clients we are really serious about putting them to the test.

There are multiple steps that Private Label Extensions takes before making a product live and available for purchase. I feel this is crucial because so many stylists, salon owners, and hair entrepreneurs rely on us for the best wholesale hair extensions at a price so they can sell at retail and make a great profit. The latest products in our wholesale catalog are the Malaysian Hair Extensions.

The goal was to find the best low-cost human hair extensions that do not totally sacrifice when it comes to quality. Do we think the Malaysian Hair is as good as our Brazilian Hair? Nah. What about compared to the Vietnamese hair extensions? Not even close.

But is it one of the best deals in town for the quality? ABSOLUTELY!

The Malaysian Hair has been selling like crazy as soon as we put it on the site. Our customers trust us and we really appreciate that.

How We Test Our Hair Extensions

As I mentioned, all our new products go through a testing process before we start buying large quantities and offering them for wholesale. Wondering what that process looks like? Let me explain.

Smelling Hair Extensions

Step 1: Receive New Bundles

Hair companies often send us samples of their hair. Honestly, most of the time it is junk! It is really discouraging that someone would try to sell something that is not even close to a standard. This is another reason our clients love to work with us. The cost of ordering samples and having them shipped to you can cost 1,000's of dollars just for this research. If the hair is junk we usually just throw it away or give it to someone in hair school that needs a few bundles to practice with.

If the hair initially looks good then we take a closer look. This involves:

  • Running our fingers through the hair to see if there is any initial shedding.
  • Smell the hair - We don't want anything funky!
  • Inspect the weft for construction.
  • Check to see if the bundle has too many "short hairs" and is not full.
  • Weight the bundle - Standard weight is 100 grams.
  • Feel the quality of the hair strands. Does it feel healthy?
  • Make sure the hair cuticles are going in the same direction.

Step 2: Hair Color Test

If the hair passes the initial inspection we then send it over to one of the to hair colorists in the USA, Paul Mitchell National Educator Dallas Christopher. Dallas is a creative genius with Paul Mitchell colors! Dallas will give us the "Yay" or "Nay" for the color ability of the hair. Check out the video below with Dallas talking about his test with the Malaysian Hair.

Step 3: Wearing the Hair Test

The final test is to give some bundles to clients for them to personally test by wearing it. This will help recognize any final problems that could occur including matting, tangling, shedding or difficulties with the wefts. Once we are provided feedback we can then feel confident to offer the products on our site. It can take a month of testing after receiving a new product before it will be added to the Private Label Extensions site.

Feedback over the past few weeks has been fantastic for both the Malaysian Body Wave & Malaysian Straight Hair Extensions. With prices starting in the low $20's it is really hard to beat the quality compared to price. Oh and yes, the Malaysian hair colors great!
