Why a Hair Business Podcast?

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of Podcasts. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t listen to them.

Back in 2010, when I was in the food industry I “kinda” started one. I wanted to interview food entrepreneurs from all over the USA. I created one episode and then stopped.

Why? Not sure.

Fast forward to 2016. I started talking to Zakiyrah Ficklin about producing a Podcast. Zakiyrah is employee #2 at Private Label Extensions and also has a wealth of information to share.

In December of 2016, we decide the name and idea for the podcast. We were going to create the first podcast that talks about the business side of the hair industry.

Private Label Extensions started growing so fast in January we had to push the podcast off until now. We have the equipment, podcast editors, website, social media, and everything else needed to do it right.

Some ideas just don’t happen overnight.

What is a Podcast?

A podcast is a recorded audio or video show similar to talk radio and does not generally focus on playing music.

Podcasts have been around since the 1980’s as it was once then known as “audioblogging.”

The Podcast boom really began around 2004 when the iPod came out. This allowed users to download the audio podcast and play it on their MP3 player on the go.

The most popular ways to listen to podcasts are by downloading or streaming episodes via iTunes for Apple product users and Stitcher for Android users. There are many more ways to listen but these two methods are currently the most popular.

I learned a lot listening to this podcast. From WordPress being the best to use for website design, to using Shopify for the payment processor because some don’t qualify for hair extensions. Who knew all this could be so complex? A lot of this information that was obtained, many are charging hundreds of dollars and you guys are offering it for free. Y’all are truly a blessing

We no longer have to guess or spend unnecessary money and learn from silly mistakes, because Private Label will answer your question and always remain a step ahead just to help us out. First of all, I love love LOVE this podcast! Honestly, I really didn’t know what a podcast was until I joined the group on facebook. This podcast provides SO MUCH valuable information when it comes to running a hair extensions business. I recently decided to start my own business after choosing to take my wigs talent seriously and having potential clients ask me about providing hair. After doing research, I found Private Label’s page on Facebook and BOOM now a podcast. I have learned so much from the podcast, like how WordPress is the best for building a website, how you need to have a store set up and Shopify for processing payments. WHOO!! I didn’t even realize building a website could need so much and be so difficult. I look forward to the podcast episodes each week. I feel as if the information given could help with the overall success of your business; from tips to secrets to just plain additional knowledge. It’s always room for improvement. Running a business can be hard, let alone being successful. I’m just glad Private Label started this podcast to give us valuable information for FREE !! Love it
