The virgin hair guide

About virgin hair

A virgin hair bundle deal is three bundles of 100% human hair sold together as one pack, with the lengths already matched — 16″, 18″ and 20″, for example. Every bundle deal at Private Label is a 3-bundle pack, so all three lengths arrive together in a single order instead of being picked one at a time.

Every bundle deal here is three bundles of 100% human hair in one pack, with the lengths already matched — 16", 18" and 20", for example. You pick the texture and the length set, and all three bundles ship together.

How many bundles you actually need

Most sew-ins take 3 bundles for lengths between 16" and 24", which is exactly what a bundle deal covers. At 14" and shorter, 2 bundles is usually enough. At 26" and longer, add a fourth bundle in the same texture — longer hair looks thinner as it hangs, so it takes more to fill in. You can add a single virgin hair bundle to any deal.

If you don't want any leave-out, add a closure or a frontal. Both come ready to customize.

Choosing a texture

Bundle deals come in body wave, straight, deep wave, loose wave, kinky curly, kinky straight, Spanish wave, Burmese curly, afro kinky curly, jerry curl and yaki straight, plus colored sets in blonde, honey blonde, jet black, burgundy and medium brown.

If you're leaving any of your own hair out, pick the texture closest to it — blending is easier than matching after the install. Keep in mind that textured hair is measured stretched straight, so a 20" curly bundle wears shorter than a 20" straight one.

Coloring virgin hair

Virgin hair has never been chemically processed, so it takes color well. Natural 1B lifts to about a #27 honey blonde. Have it done by a professional stylist, do a strand test first, and deep condition afterward. For platinum and other light blondes, start with one of the pre-colored blonde sets or use raw hair, which lifts further.

Keeping it looking new

Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo every two to three weeks, depending on how often you wear it. Detangle from the ends up with a wide-tooth comb, let the hair air dry, and use a light leave-in. Cared for that way, a set lasts a year or more.

Virgin, remy or raw

Virgin hair sits between remy and raw on both processing and price. Our guide to remy, virgin and raw hair explains where the line actually falls.

Virgin hair FAQs

What is a virgin hair bundle deal?

How many bundles do I need for a sew-in?

Most sew-ins take 3 bundles for lengths of 16″ to 24″, which is exactly what a bundle deal gives you. Use 2 bundles at 14″ and shorter. At 26″ and longer, add a 4th bundle in the same texture. Add a closure or frontal if you don't want any leave-out.

Do you sell 4-bundle deals?

Can virgin hair be colored?

Yes. Virgin hair has never been chemically processed, so it takes color well, and natural 1B lifts to about a #27 honey blonde. Have it done by a professional stylist, do a strand test first, and deep condition afterward. For lighter blondes, start with a pre-colored blonde bundle deal or choose raw hair.

Body wave, straight, deep wave, loose wave, kinky curly, kinky straight, Spanish wave, Burmese curly, afro kinky curly, jerry curl and yaki straight, plus colored options in blonde, honey blonde, jet black, burgundy and medium brown. Textured hair is measured stretched straight.
