What are some things I should do once I have the website?

We recommend starting a blog. It will really help drive traffic to your site. The site comes with standard product descriptions which are great when just getting started. Make a plan to rewrite some of them and add your personality. Add customer photos to the “additional photos” section to show off the hair.

Do I have to use your dropshipping service with the website?

Nope. That is totally up to you. The monthly hosting fee includes full access to the system.

How long does it take to complete the hair extension websites?

It generally takes 7 – 10 business days depending on how many sites are in production. We usually crank them out faster than that!

Should I set up separate social media accounts for my hair brand?

Absolutely. Your current friends might be interested in your brand but they do not want to see it all day. Create new pages for your new hair brand that followers can watch.

Will my website show up in search engines?

For sure! The site is SEO optimized. If you really want to crank up the traffic start blogging to give Google more to look at.

For me selling online has been a challenge. I’ve been a hairstylist for over 10years. I’ve been selling hair for about 2. I purchased wholesale before having a website. I sell hair to not only my clients that need it but word of mouth has played a big role. My friends & family repost my post & tell people they know where to come. This is the reason I know selling online is hard. Most of my people want their hair same day, so having hair on hand is always a plus. I’m still branding myself, marketing to a different crowd than I’m used to & networking to get my name out into the world. Hopefully in the near future, I can get people from all over to purchase Extensions from me but for now, I’m not complaining because I know my hard work will pay off!

This is a really great blog! I’ve been a stylist for a while now. but I’ve only been doing weaves for maybe 5 years now. Selling bundles for me came about when my clients would bring my hair and it would be terrible. They would pay all this money and it totally wouldn’t be worth it, not to mention the lack of customer service. My first round of selling hair I ordered only 20 bundles and sold out in 2 weeks. I was amazed and been hooked ever since. For me, it’s also about securing my future in the hair game. At some point, I will have to retire from doing hair and what better way to start by selling hair, so this year is my year to create a site for people to order hair and I’m excited about that. What’s fabulous about PLE is that you guys have everything mapped out. Sometimes it’s very hard to find trustworthy people to make a site for you, so this is something I’m excited about and I can’t wait to get started.

Starting any business will be tough, a hair business is no different. Think about 20 years ago trying to acquire customers without having the internet! Now, with a hair extension website, you can reach anyone in the world. Selling hair can be great but just be ready for some hurdles to push through.

This article hit the nail on the head, it’s also the article that made me join the PLE group and hope to attain a PLE website! They’re so many competitors in this industry doing the same thing but I don’t see them doing for their clients, it’s only to be beneficial to themselves to make more money! I love the idea of the guidance, help, and the kind of holding your hand through the process that PLE offers! I jumped on this train a while back and I’m going to continue to ride! I want to thank the PLE family for all that they do to help us entrepreneurs get our feet off of the ground and making our dreams come true one website at a time!

For me attempting to sell online has been a challenge. From trying different websites to try and work with to having the actual money to get started. The Dropship option is a good start for me. I do t have to worry about finding vendors and testing it out and wasting money. The only obstacle I see is that most people want their hair right then and there. I’m still trying to brand myself.

  13. Constance a says:

I’ll admit, private label extensions do a great job of accommodating for all. Whether you are a stylist or someone looking to dabble in the hair extension industry, private label extensions can cater to you. The mobile-friendly personal websites are a plus as well! It’s hard to build your own e-commerce website let alone, one that looks good on cellphones. Dropshipping is also a great option, and it’s awesome that it’s provided. Not everyone has the time or money to hold inventory and ship hair out. A++* for catering to all! This is an informative post and I plan to recommend this to others. Thank you!

  14. Jasminn Segovia says:

I’ve only been selling hair for 4 months now and the hair I did know the hair industry was huge but definitely didn’t expect it to be this huge and competitive. It’s been really hard trying to get that first sale but I found this article really helpful. I was questioning starting a blog because I didn’t know what I’d write about or if anyone would really be interested but reading other blogs and the experience I’ve been having so far I’m at that point where I think starting a blog could really help me out getting my brand noticed and starting to get sales, and also just giving out information that I’ve learned along the way! Thank you Private Label Extensions, you guys are really helpful to the newbies in this industry!

  15. Meshala Clark says:

I’m so thankful for PLE! The stress of creating a website that was attractive, user-friendly, & dependable kept me from reaching my full potential! Sometimes you have to realize that you can’t do it at all! Listening to the podcasts and reading other PLE customers feedback has helped me in so many ways. I’ve had 2 sales already and next month I’m participating in a pop-up shop! So excited for the rest of 2018!

  16. Sakina says:

I want to start a website but women in my country are not keen on using websites. They would order online for items on Amazon, clothing etc but for local purchases they would prefer to contact on email, Instagram, Facebook.

I will use your tips above and reconsider.

  17. Shante says:

I’m very new to selling hair, but not new to how important it is to have an aesthetically pleasing website. From my web development background, I’ve learned how to build all kinds of websites including e-commerce websites from scratch. However, I love how PLE provides the websites for us allowing us to focus on other important areas of starting our hair business. If you are a dropshipper like me and don’t have the capital upfront, there are many e-commerce platforms that can get the job done. Here are my recommendations: Woocommerce for WordPress, Prestashop (which is free by the way), Squarespace, Big Commerce, Shopify, and many others. Mikey Moran, who doesn’t love those PayPal notifications? I do. PayPal is the most popular payment system today and offers banking to payment processing solutions. What’s also great about PayPal is you have access to your funds quickly. With PayPal and PLE websites, you will have your business up and running in no time. The hair industry is booming right now and we need to take advantage of that. Not to mention, PLE offers the most competitive pricing plan in the industry. If you’re in the hair extensions business get your membership and get access to unmatched quality hair extensions and if you’re new get the membership because you will have access to a great community of like-minded women seasoned and new in this business that is helpful. Mikey Moran, I’m beyond satisfied with PLE and Dropship Bundles services, I can’t wait to see what’s next.

  18. Shavaeona says:

I launched my business February 7th, 2018 and I will say that this guide right here, I studied for months and months. I still go back to this guide everytime O do not know or remember something to make sure that I am running my business to the best of my ability and that I am utilizing all of my resources. In the beginning, I was tight on money and did not want to spend any but I have had more success when I just jump out on faith. It is March 11th and I am on my 4th sale. What I have been told was that was really good to just be up and running for just a month. I know I could be doing way better but I am still trying to master techniques on how to appeal to social media and get people to take advantage of sales. Dropship has definitely been a huge blessing (Thank god). This makes things so simple, I love to what’s going on with my products when customers order and etc. Also if you have not been in the “How to start a hair business” group on FB you definitely need to!

  19. Toni Hammond says:

Hi Mikey, this was a blog that truly stood out to me! I had paid for my website through PrestaShop and what I got was a drop off into a land of nowhere! Once I had access to my dashboard I didn’t know where to begin, I was especially lost with the product entry information things like the combinations, price, setting taxes and discounts for my products and so forth. I also had issues with the hosting site itself, it had a lot of bugs that needed to be updated and fixed which caused me to lose saved data causing me to have to input 1,000’s of combinations from scratch. The fact the Private Label extends that extra support for setting up a website is amazing and I wish I had this opportunity when I built my store. Because of the hosting site still being a bit off and a year later I am still learning everything about my site. I joined the group about 6 months ago and have felt at home ever since! I have been able to get past a lot of challenging times not knowing what steps to take next to grow my business, The right looking website and the simplicity of buying the hair and information provided is a winner every time. I plan to switch my site and work with PLE, Trust me if you can cut out the stressful middle man and just purchase the site through Private Label that’s the best bet! Thank you, Mikey, I was able to see I am going the hard way any other way😊

It’s 7:18 AM and I just finished this article for the third time today. Have you ever felt energized after being spiritually lifted? This article always does it for me. I started my online website 5 months ago and I can admit it’s always a satisfying feeling to go back to your roots. I wasn’t good at selling hair, after all, I thought it would be easy. I wasn’t good with the education of hair extensions either. When it comes to this article and a few others, it motivates you to get out and get straight to it, literally. It’s the basic things that can take you so far. Not only are you being educated, but you’re being motivated to push yourself further than you’ve ever done. And if that’s the sole purpose of this article, then good job PLE. I have class at 8:00 and work at 10:00. I’m ready, I’m motivated…let’s sell some hair. Let’s get our business booming!

  21. Brittney Worthy says:

Just started out and not being a stylist I’d have to say is my biggest challenge. But now that I’ve got my foot in the door I know my website is what will set me apart from many Hair lines, especially in my area. (Pittsburgh) I’m super excited to get my site from PLE.

  22. Carmen Johnson says:

I have found that selling online is very profitable. There are no excuses not to start selling hair as a business anymore. If you want to sell hair extensions, you need to go where the customers are. And these days, that means social media. 81% of Americans have at least one social media profile. Facebook is the granddaddy of these sites. Since joining PLE my hair business has soared to new heights. Not only are the staff at PLE approachable but the customer service, reply turnaround and generosity is beyond belief. The most important part of it all is that I live right here in Atlanta and can visit PLE anytime. I love this hands free business tool and you will too. Visit and join hundreds of professional who mean business.

  23. Nicole Smith says:

I am really surprised at the resources PLE is offering to help others start their hair business. This is unheard of for a company to do this much to support other entrepreneurs. From this blog to the Facebook group to offering website set up and branding materials and all this education….it almost seems to good to be true but they really care and want others to succeed.

  24. Destiney says:

It seems like if you are not a hairstylist, selling hair is a challenge. You see all on social media these big named hair company’s making it look super easy, but in all reality it’s hard! You have to know about hair before trying to dive in and sell it. You need to know what grades they are or if it’s raw! If you don’t have a website people will not take you seriously because they want to look you up to make sure you are legit, I would want to make sure you are legit too. Your website has to look very professional and not crowded looking. PLE makes a little less difficult though because they offer so much. If you are doing everything right, unlike me because I do not have a laptop, just a phone, then selling hair online will be a breeze. This blog gives great advice on how to sell online successfully!

  25. Andrea James says:

I am truly just now adventuring back into the hair extension world. I once before tried but wasn’t as motivated as I am now. I am currently starting my own website to sell my hair. I have found this article helpful to me because it’s very detailed and easy to understand for a new comer.

  26. Bria Davis says:

This article was very helpful …. majority of my clients always ask where is my website ?? So I know that’s my next step !!!

  27. Keisha says:

I am not a hairstylist, unfortunately, but would love to start very own company selling hair extension. In my eyes, I will become the next successful hair entrepreneur with the support of Private Label Extension (PLE).

  29. Briana Thompson says:

Reading this blog has answered so many key questions that I had, which I couldn’t find the answers to. The way each step is broken down to understand the way E-commerce works and how to maintain your online store was very helpful. I have been trying for a while now and it hasn’t been the most successful thing, so I paused to get a better understanding and this blog post was just exactly what I needed. Thank you so much!

  30. Courtney Allen says:

I absolutely love how you all give everyone the opportunity to succeed. Starting a hair business is very difficult sometime and having someone to support you through it is always needed. Sometimes you can get discouraged but you all have found a way to make sure we are supported in every avenue. Adding the websites was a brilliant idea. It makes it easier for the non-tech savvy entrepreneur to be able to reach out to many more customers they probably would have never been able to reach. You all have definitely motivated me and I can’t wait to continue to grow with you all.

Reading this information is one thing, applying it is another thing! I’m on my second website since my hair brand launch and I’m about to go with the option you all suggested when I first started, “If you want to build your own site use WordPress.” I was looking at the cost of the website and most website builders offer pretty good startup plans but that’s as far as it goes. With a hair site, you have to make sure you have the plugins for your site to make your site more attractive and up to date. You will lose money when you don’t start your site on the right platform from the beginning. This is something I have learned the hard way. I appreciate PLE giving out the blueprint on how to make a cost-effective hair site on your own.
